This article from the Washington Post will always be relevant, thus I’m sharing it and pinning it, because it explains my opinions so accurately that I could have written it myself.
Sto vivendo un brutto periodo di depressione e ieri finalmente ho provato emozioni vere e forti.
@acmilan
, mi hai fatto piangere di gioia, e per questo ti sono infinitamente grata. Ti amo. Ti amo da sempre, da quando iniziano i miei ricordi. Oggi ti amo un po’ di più.
I know we’re all making fun of this parallel because it IS hilarious, but it also shows how Louis’ behavior in relationships hasn’t changed and how he’s emotionally neglectful towards his partners to the point of driving them to desperation.

After all these months, I think I understood clearly that what hurts the most about this scene, among all the painful details, it Peter’s reaction. How not ready to let go he was. How shocked he was. Pepper and Rhodey knew; for years they’ve feared this moment, knowing it was >
The fact is also: Armand isn’t boring. He isn’t beige. He isn’t bland. He’s actually a menace. That’s just the suit he chose to wear for decades because he thought Louis needed him pliant and safe, because he thought Louis needed a soft love.
Ricordare sempre che nello Specchio delle Brame Silente vede Grindelwald. Non Ariana. Non la sua famiglia riunita. Solo Grindelwald.

A moment of pure honesty: I had a few share of endgames as a shipper, but the sheer happiness this teen show eventually gave me? It’ll never happen again.
The main issue with the IWTV fandom is that discourse form every side tries to frame things in a binary manner, black and white, and everyone gets frustrated because the story doesn’t allow such readings. It just doesn’t. It naturally exceeds them.
Here I am saying once again that S2 needs to go over Lestat and Claudia’s relationship again, because what we got wasn’t enough to understand it. A couple of tender moments in episode 4 are not sufficient. (What if we get flashbacks during the yellow dress scene?)
a concrete possibility. But Tony was invincible to Peter. Peter didn’t know much about Tony’s weaknesses. The very thought of Tony - Iron Man, his idol, his hero - dying must have felt inconceivable to him. Unacceptable. Peter didn’t have enough time with Tony. >
Not to be annoying, but Loumand is essential to Loustat endgame. Louis needs to experience a different love before he can clearly understand what he wants (Lestat) and choose it with awareness.
Not enough time to understand his humanity. Not enough time to know him as deeply as their relationship deserved. It’s heartbreaking because it’s unfair.
Interesting, because this is something that happened in IWTV S1: Lestat trying to talk about Nicki and getting mocked by Claudia. Could this mean the writers are also working with the PL trilogy? Mmh.
Things I wanna add:
- Thing is the reason why Loumand break up in the book, like… canonically. Read.
- Louis does the very same to Claudia, though not in a romantic setting. Again, go open a book.
- Where did I say this makes what Armand and Lestat do ok?
Thinking back to the conversation between Armand and Lestat. There's a certain softness to it that makes me think that was not the first time Armand spoke to Lestat. I'm not sure what that means, but I hope the show makes it clear there's more than resentment between them.
There’s something poetic about Louis getting in touch with his monstrous nature while hallucinating Lestat, who tried so hard to make him do that during their relationship. “Lestat, I have hated you for all the wrong reasons” for real.
Remember Jacob and Sam said that Lestat's more "Louis" than himself this season because he's a hallucination most of the time we see them so what he does reveals how Louis truly feels
Here’s the thing. Once Claudia has “killed” Lestat, Louis sees the “evil” in her - the evil he rejects in himself and that he couldn’t tolerate in Lestat - and can no longer look at her. And when he does, it’s with disgust.
Oh, we’re so getting the Loustat NOLA reunion: did Lestat weep? Did he beg Louis to stay? Did he reject him? WHAT happened in NOLA? Was Armand there too?
This bit of conversation between Armand and Lestat really captures what relationship are about in VC. These vampires will forgive each other anything, their love and their need for companionship in immortal life is too strong.
now i’m finally reading about Grand Guignol, it’s so genius to make theatre des vampires in its style the performance of horror and sex merges in gore. s2 gonna be insane
Look at how PROUD Blair is. I’ve always loved how she pushed Chuck to propose. He would have waited to give her a grand wedding, but she was so ready to marry him she couldn’t stand waiting any longer.
Some thoughts I got this morning about

and Lestat that I didn’t have time to share. In the show, so many of Lestat’s behaviors and choices are quite hard to read because viewers don’t truly have the emotional context he’s coming from. Lestat is a severely traumatized >
I find it super interesting that they’re navigating toward the Mad Men model, because that means hyperfocus on characterization and details and relatively “slow” storytelling. In other words, my heaven.
An interview with Rolin Jones from last January that I don't think I've seen before. He gives some interesting insight into the intention of the series and of the themes on memory.

I think it's because Louis feels he is in full control of his relationship with Armand. That he has all the power within their relationship, which is what their bench scene is about.

writers share their excitement about exploring "the malleability and delusion of memory" in season 2🤔 What does that mean for the plot and characters, we wonder...
Listening to RDJ talking about Tony’s journey gave me a lot of peace. “Good” sadness, if that’s even a thing. I had already understood and accepted Tony’s death, as much as it can be accepted, but hearing this from Robert helps so much. I’m sure it’ll help other Tony stans too.
I’ll say this: the argument between Armand and Louis triggered me big time. Being boring in relationships is one of my worst fears. And in general, in relationships, romantic and not, I’ve found myself in that carer position so many times.

? Ah no ?
If Chuck had been the one to get engaged and married someone who wasn’t Blair, Blair would have lost her mind and tried to destroy both Chuck and the fiancée/wife. Overall, she would have reacted way more selfishly than Chuck did 🤷🏻♀️
I actually think Louis is furious at the comparison between he and Lestat and Lestat and Magnus. Because he knows aboutt Lestat’s turning, and he already got hella pissed at Daniel in S1 when he implied his turning and relationship with Lestat was anything but consensual.
@medieval_trash
Book Claudia is also cold as a stone, and Louis describes her as significantly less human than both him and Lestat. It’s part of her charm.
Thinking that Armand likes the way Louis “withholds”, and how painful Louis’ withholding was to Lestat, and how excruciating it will be for Armand as well, eventually.
I only caught glimpses of the Marius drama but bottom line is: if you call people disgusting for enjoying a FICTIONAL (f.i.c.t.i.o.n.a.l: doesn’t exist) character, you’re just a bully. And I’m gonna block or mute you immediately, even though I don’t even care about Marius.
Just got off the phone with an old friend who recently watched GG and noticed "the thing about Serena is, she always had to go." She said in her experience, rich people always have to go, and it's just one of the many details the show got right about the characters' privilege.
I can't even begin to explain how perfect this is. Heartbreaking and perfect. That sentence is uttered with so much pride, even through unbearable pain. It's not just "Iron Man", it's Tony; Tony and his difficult yet aware choice.
People tend to really underestimate the amount of trauma Chuck had to go through and how much it influenced his choices. You have to look at his mistakes from this point of viewpoint to truly understand him. Furthermore, Chuck is a complex and layered character >

Quite simply "our daughter". Among other things, at its core IWTV (book) is a story about losing one's child, and how a couple might navigate through that pain, and might or might not make it.
Sam just GETS it. The most important thing for this adaptation is trying to convey this. This show shouldn’t - and doesn’t want to - be a fan service product. It needs to be bold, disruptive, disturbing, challenging.

@CrissiAndCo
I honestly don’t get the necessity to see characters “punished”. Ever, in no context. What is this, catholic school? lol
I know Lestat faces a lot of torture, and I enjoy the tragedy of it because it’s sad, but the concept of “he had it coming” is lost to me.
I think the most amazing thing about Tony is that he was a character that always remained human. He had flaws, fears, passions, issues. His heroism was a journey and it was one made of choices.
@wolfsbane_siren
Me too, Grace. I relate to Louis more than I relate to Lestat. Often, I am Louis. This is a canonical character flaw pointed out by every single person he’s ever loved. Claudia included.
And I say this because more or less all my OTPs went through the “I want to try a less consuming love” phase, and going through that eventually only makes the couple stronger. Not to mention the fact that Loumand evolves into a beautiful friendship with time. That’s love too.
I've blocked or muted so many people over the past months that I actually don't see the Lestat hate, I just read other Lestat fans talking about it. Victory, I guess? lol
I’ve never watched The Vampire Diaries it The Originals. But seeing fans so disappointed makes me wonder that I’m grateful all my OTPs got their endgame. Chuck and Blair got the most satisfying: happy marriage, a beautiful son who wears bowties, a loving family and friends
I see GG twitter is back at the Chair vs. Dair argument. It’s a pity Dairs haven’t found me yet. I would love to silence them by admitting honestly that I love Chair BECAUSE they’re problematic - and thus interesting - and that, most importantly, I love my Chuck dark and twisted.
