individuals lie more when in a group, driven by communication within group: members produce & exchange more arguments for dishonesty than for honesty. Group membership shifts the perception of the validity of the honesty norm.
This work has inspired us to think that social interactive context (eg observation, imitation) may simplify learning & afford emergent forms of meta-Learning that would not be available to isolated agents learning individually

People are reluctant to punish groups that violate norms. Also, people violate norms more when they're in a group.
@MarwaElZein7
's new work offers empirical evidence for both of above statements, making a strong case for Shared Responsibility as key motivation for joining groups
this is consistent with our (
@MarwaElZein7
@bahadorbahrami
& R Hertwig) recent proposition that people join groups in order to sharing responsibility and avoid blame for violation of norms
individuals lie more when in a group, driven by communication within group: members produce & exchange more arguments for dishonesty than for honesty. Group membership shifts the perception of the validity of the honesty norm.
