Goalies skipping the AHL is rare. Skipping the AHL and going straight from NCAA to the NHL is essentially unheard of. Even Ryan Miller, Hobey Baker finalist, did time in the AHL. I'm starting to believe Levi is going to do something unprecedented.

Knight takes Stacey into Frankel, that should be a goal as you can’t push players into your goalie. You negate everything by pushing a player into your goalie. Boston gets rewarded for it though 🤷‍♂️

It's really a shame that WoHo doesn't have the same media presence that Men's Hockey has because these #U18Worlds were amazing & everyone that wants to ride the wave a bit longer can't. Whereas in men's hockey you'd get multiple podcasts/POV's.

Watching MTL/BOS PWHL playoff action and the only ones with any energy left are the goalies. This is tough to watch. BOS has a bit more left in the tank cause they aren’t taking long range shots but these players are dead.

Being on the 4th highest floor in an apartment building means a short trip for the Humboldt boys so we made sure to leave as many sticks out as possible plus a few extra goalie sticks for Parker Torbin and whoever else wants to try out goaltending #PutYourSticksOut

I’m glad someone has said this as it used to be true. Due to to evolutions in the game & equip players should NEVER give their own stick to the goalie. You’re more useful in using it to shut down passing than your goalie will be. Goalies tell your players to keep their stick

Mélodie Daoust comes in off the reserve list, casually plays nearly 18 minutes with the top line, puts up a goal + primary assist, three shots on goal, and didn't look out of place either. The idea of Montreal having Mélodie for a whole season is terrifying.

Ann-Renee Desbiens is just so good. Like watching Shannon Szabados all over again with the way she's just able to calmly put in an end to the chaos. Was a C game defensively for Canada but you wouldn't know it by how Desbiens kept Finland to one goal.

Best case scenario is there's an age limit on prospects & even someone like Erin Ambrose isn't considered a prospect. Worst case scenario for 5/6 PWHL teams is they're underrating the PHF talent & some smart team is going to end up with Gabel/Giguere/Howard/Marchment.

Respect to Mikko Koskinen. Anyone who has ever played goalie knows (to a degree) what he's going through. Nothing is working, you feel hopeless but you just do literally anything to make saves. It's not pretty, it may not work, but you're trying.

Last but not least there's @schellingf again in the top spot. It's a fair question to ask if she's the best #Olympic goalie in women's hockey history (could make a case for both men's/women's), especially if she keeps pace with her previous Olympic performances this year.

In women's hockey goalies that aren't a consistent no. 1 goalie on their National Team rarely get the recognition their playing career deserves. Prime example of this is Sami Jo Small. I don't want that to happen anymore so I wrote this piece on recently retired Geneviève Lacasse

Having watched the vast majority of PWHL games...yeah finding time/space has been extremely difficult for everyone not named Natalie Spooner. Going to be interesting to see what teams prioritize in the draft, re-signing and signing free agents.

when i was at the T6 ring ceremony back in february i chatted with a few players who were in the first few weeks of their pwhl season the main takeaway i got from most of them was how hard the league was. every night was different. finding space wasnt like it was in the phf

Shutout for #Sens prospect Leevi Meriläinen. I know Sens fans are excited over Mads Søgaard but they should have excitement over Meriläinen as well. Reminds me of a raw Georgiev with a bigger frame. Just a very agile/quick goalie.

Final #U18WomensWorlds thoughts 🧵: SWE should be so proud of themselves. They proved themselves to be a top 3 team this tournament despite the Gold Medal score. Bad games happen & they had one at the worst possible time, learning experience.

People say it a lot but I'll say it again, Ottawa is the vibes team. If they make the playoffs & make it to the Final the fanbase is going to go wild. Lexie Adzija is leading her team in goals & still finds time to give time to the community. That's how you grow the game.

I know people will look at the shots and think 19 shots isn’t a whole lot. NY were consistently getting B Grade Chances & the game could have changed if Campbell wasn’t sharp on just consistently good chances. TOR won the shot battle but I think the scoring chance battle was even

The difference has been the USA has been cashing in on rebounds better than Canada. The US doesn’t care about giving up shots, they care about limiting lateral movement & being the 1st to rebounds.

Going to be interesting watching these two teams approach two similar goalies in Maschmeyer & Frankel. Both are very agile, aggressive, mobile goalies who do well really mitigating their size disadvantage. #RivalrySeries
