I just finished the fourth wig for my Ghibli series: this time inspired by Ponyo! This wig started as an @ArdaWigs Luthien in Aqua, with additional fiber wefted in around the crown for both the new partline and all of the teasing required for the wave shape.

The first piece of Princess Bubblegum's shoulder sculpt for Katsucon and the Cosplay Met Gala is finished and in the process of being cast! This was sculpted from sulfur-free clay, over a quick and dirty corseted foam body double. It's also really difficult to photograph nicely.

It took us YEARS to realize there's a secret "finished garment measurement" sizing on pattern pieces, which contains the true sizing without an extra five inches of totally unnecessary ease some commercial patterns add so that you too can sew a tent. Check the ease; save a life!!

Does your gown touch the floor? Add a loop so that you can easily pick it up and hold it while walking! Do not just trail your train behind you - not only are you forcing people around you, but you run the risk of it getting stepped on and damaged!!

Come closer, Sen. What would you like? My Spirited Away wig was one of the first ones I designed! No Face is constructed from glue-saturated fiber, wrapped around a foam clay base. I'll be posting the finished wig once it's done, as well as a big wig announcement on the 1st!

On whether it's "okay" to copy someone's cosplay: I think we need to remember there's a big difference between ideas, techniques and design. Ideas & techniques are meant to be learned from and shared! A design belongs to the creator. If you want to copy it ask permission first!

Added that final row of hair spikes to Charizard, which means this last #Pokemon wig is all finished! Whenever making spikes I always blend fiber together for more of a pop, and this one was done with teal, light blonde, and fire orange fiber from @ardawigs #cosplay #colossalcon

Does your extra large cosplay have sharp bits or unfinished, snaggable edges that stick out on the ends? Fix this before heading to con. Don't be that person whose 6ft long cosplay snags on someone's fabric or stabs someone. Remember that this is YOUR responsibility!

I love seeing these Megan Rapinoe posts because they remind me how much we're pressured to downplay our accomplishments. In 2019 I won the Crown Championships of Cosplay and am always wildly hesitant to bring it up, out of fear that even mentioning it will come off as showboating

Finished the base of Marcy's gown! This is a custom motif we designed, inspired by Gothic cathedral architecture. There are 23 individual pieces that each required about 2-3 hours of stitching time due to the multiple layers needed to satin stitch and cut out the window frames.

For ultra large cosplays that can't easily move, try to set up your photoshoot spot in a corner or anywhere out of the way. Do not occupy bottleneck locations like stairs, hallways, and doors. This will help with the flow of traffic, and your fellow attendees will thank you.
