Anyone with experience in elite college admissions knows that this is a typical resume and in no way mind-blowing to Harvard, Yale, or Princeton.
@Cluffalo
I don't get why people pretend these girls are being "manipulated" by these men. They are dating them for access to power, money, and connections. The men want them for their youth and looks. Both are benefitting from the partnership in their own way. These girls aren't naive.
@BriannaWu
@KamalaHQ
It's stunning that 46% of ages 18-24 support Hamas. We have allowed anti-Americanism and anti-Westernism to corrupt the minds of our youth. The fact that they're split on supporting a terrorist group is astounding.
@cowabungatime
The internet is filled with so-called "gifted" people that have accomplished very little, so they feel the need to validate themselves by bringing their 5th grade aptitude scores up as much as possible.
It's the nerd version of a high school sports star that just can't let it go
@SwannMarcus89
I think they're struggling with the notion that "marginalized" people often do not support each other and Arab nationalist Islamists are some of the most homophobic and misogynist people in the world.

This isn't true. Anyone that has worked in elite admissions knows that having a startup is incredibly common for ambitious high schoolers. Having a 1590 isn't super uncommon within the elite applicant pools.
@KimberlyNFoster
The harsh reality is that there's a massive shortage of high-quality black men for someone like Quinta Brunson to marry. If she married a Black man, she would almost certainly be marrying down in the social and class hierarchy.
Anyone who thinks Harris will be the same as Biden on Israel is kidding themselves. She will buckle to the left-wing pressure and pull support from Israel.
I think a lot of my liberal Zionist friends are choosing to ignore blaring signals of her real positions here.
VP Kamala Harris met last week in person with Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, the AP reported today, citing an anonymous source. The meeting has not been publicly disclosed by Harris or Hammoud.

He was repeated the word Speed just said to him. You can't just use the n-word all the time and then get mad when other people do the same thing. I also doubt people over there understand the significance of it as much as Americans do.
@ShamebyJames
I think they're learning black American voters are highly, highly pragmatic and don't believe in protest voting for the sake of making a "statement."
@JewishWonk
I don't think it would help achieve a ceasefire to have someone on stage accusing Israel of "genocide." That would increase Hamas' leverage. This would also spook many pro-Israel moderates that are looking to the DNC for reassurance Harris will continue to support Israel.
@mattyglesias
I have a hard time believing they actually thought they would topple Israel on 10/7. Their goals seem more pragmatic: scuttle the Abraham Accords, spark a regional war, and ruin Israel's image
@DaSkrubKing
Gay rights was literally won through decades of appealing to moderates and normies. If gays tried to "dismantle the system" homosexuality would be as marginalized now as it was in the 70s.
Jemele Hill will reportedly leave Spotify soon. This marks another failed project for the former ESPN host who called Trump a "white supremacist."

What is this "green light" you speak of? That's not how admissions works. There are around 1200 open seats for 40,000 applications. Scores exist to signal you can do the work.
The decision is based on the essay, narrative, and what they can contribute to the community.
@NielsHoven
Affluent and education-focused parents will put their kids in Kumon or Russian Math to circumvent whatever nonsense progressive bureaucrats cook up. As always, the cost of these "egalitarian" policies always fall on the talented but poor.
@mattyglesias
They didn't mess it up.
People who spend too much time online are under the impression that sentiments popular on Twitter and op-eds in the New York Times and Atlantic are reflective of broader cultural opinion.
The truth is that most people liked Chapelle's special.
@AshNicoleMoss
@NABJ
I disagree. Trump might be the next president of the United States. Do you not want black journalists to ask him tough questions he wouldn't get from the traditional press?
Professional journalists should ALWAYS take the opportunity to interview powerful people. It's our job.
@DogOnTheRoof
@EmmaVigeland
"International law" did not stop Azerbaijan from committing ethnic cleansing. It didn't stop Syria or Iraq from expelling Christians. It didn't stop Yemen from implementing slavery.
No one can look at the real world and expect international law to save them.
@feelsdesperate
The Dems just held a coronation ceremony and no one seems to care.
No one ever voted for Harris to represent the party. A council of elites selected her and shoved her down everyone else's throats. Why is there no media criticism of this?
@feelsdesperate
The biggest issue with DEI is that it simply cannot address the deep-rooted rot that many minority communities are dealing with. Around 90% of black students cannot read or do math at grade level. No amount of DEI programs is going to turn them into doctors or engineers.
@lxeagle17
Twitter left: "Pick Walz over Shapiro, because Shapiro's a Zionist!"
Twitter left: "Walz is a Zionist, so I'm not going to vote for him!"
A perfect example of why it's important to never care about what terminally-online progressives think. They can't be satisfied.
@ProfDBernstein
Those RAs should be immediately removed from their positions. That was an explicit signal that they will not take antisemitism seriously.
@CBHeresy
It says something when you can build a media career off of going viral for using a racial slur. At least Rittenhouse actually had a compelling backstory of defending property during the BLM riots.
This girl just says vulgar things online to go viral.
@academic_la
I don't think Trump has policy convictions. He just supports whatever makes him look best. He seems to be susceptible to the same pressures that American liberals are when it comes to this issue. Of course, Hamas' goal is to force Israel to stop war due to international pressure
@SteveMillerOC
I have to think that this is going to just backfire. First off, CS is hard and few students coming from that background will be prepared for the rigor of the work.
Second, why does every university hold it against students because they have parents who have their act together?
@SwannMarcus89
You'd think that a feminine pop-princess dating a macho football player being the biggest pop-culture story in the country would be seen as a win for the right's culture war, but alas they find a way to still lose.
@SwannMarcus89
The median college student cares a lot more about parties, drinking, and hooking up while keeping on top of their studies. The 18-22 year old pro-Palestine obsessives are mostly neurotic outcasts.
@OliverJia1014
I don't even believe leftists view the Gaza War as a genocide. They're using the most extreme language possible to try and delegitimize Israel.
Many of these same people cheer on Russia, China, and Syria for even worse atrocities. The common thread is that they hate the West.
@ArmandDoma
Well yes. It's well known that sexuality carries a far higher stigma for men than it does women. This is why men go far out of their way to avoid doing anything that could be perceived as "gay", including dressing well or using haircare products.
@alex_kirshner
The Olympics are literally breaking ratings records right now. The "boycott" narrative is as legit as it was for the NFL during the Kaepernick saga. A niche amount of people truly care about this and are willing to change their viewing habits over this.
@ArmandDoma
Why are these people acting like Biden's up by double-digits? There are calls for him to step down because he's in a historically-weak position for an incumbent. No one has ever won from his current position and there's no indication it will improve.
Walz is a confusing pick for Harris. She should have a straightforward path to picking up moderates from Trump, and she chose the furthest-left dude she could. Shapiro was a far superior choice, but Dems are too afraid to attach themselves to Israel right now.
@razibkhan
Yeah, I'm black but my parents simply enrolled me in a 3rd party math course when this happened. Ironically, I gained 3 years of math in 1 year due to the accelerated curriculum. My peers lost multiple years of progress.
@academic_la
Trump doesn't release policies. The reality is that releasing policy platforms only gives opponents a weapon to use against you. Supporting Medicare for All torpedoed Warren in the 2020 Dem. primary.
@SwannMarcus89
If Jews are oppressed under this "one state solution" there will be zero support from the left. They won't care, like they don't care about Ukrainians or Uyghurs.
@mattyglesias
2.9 is the live audience number. When taking account viewing across all platforms it scored around 10 million, which is massive in the modern era.
@JeremiahDJohns
The YIMBY movement's myopic focus on a widely popular issue "housing policy reform" is why they're successful. Diverting focus onto an extremely divisive issue would risk derailing the movement and fracturing the coalition.
@RichardHanania
Michelle is ADOs and Barack isn't. Barack was raised by his white grandparents and lived in Hawaii and Indonesia. It shouldn't be surprising that he has more complex racial views.
@ZaidJilani
Why would anyone accept to terms they never even negotiated? Trump certainly wouldn't agree to a debate on MSNBC at an Atlanta HBCU with hand-selected moderators.
@tracewoodgrains
At my New England boarding school, humanities were notoriously difficult and teachers made it very hard to get an "A." The class was curved to an 89 average.
We choose to water down humanities into surface-level "essays" and regurgitated information on multiple choice exams.
@RichardHanania
The issue here is that elite black Dems that are in party leadership or on MSNBC all attended high-ranking universities that peddle the notion that blacks are victims.
@SwannMarcus89
"our communities legitimized the university" wait, these kids think they aren't expendable? They could easily replace every student on that campus with a waitlisted applicant and the school's reputation would not take a hit whatsoever.

Conservatives: "I hate that feminism has made women so masculine!"
Conservatives: "How dare these women behave in a traditionally effeminate manner!"

Inappropriate question. Athletes shouldn't be asked about their love lives. It has nothing to do with their sport and it's none of our business.

Israel would be wise not to bank on young people "realizing they were stupid." Political views aren't as fluid as some think.
Israel should make alliances with other non-American powerful countries so they aren't dependent on the U.S. relationship.
Bud Light Marketing VP is on a leave of absence amid an ongoing controversy over the brand's decision to bring on transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
@DailyCaller
The pro-Palestine movement is weaponizing identity politics and victimhood to portray their movement as a push for "equal rights." Their movement is about destruction of the Jewish state. Look at their social media from Oct. 7. Many in this movement celebrated the massacre.
60 years ago, the DNC refused to seat Fannie Lou Hamer & the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party.
We walk in that rich tradition of Black-led organizing that has achieved enormous progress & teaches us how to keep pushing for justice.
We’ll keep pushing.

@Tyler_A_Harper
You simply can't have a sane admissions process at schools that have a 4% admit rate. The whole thing would be far less insane if each Ivy League university doubled their incoming class.
For years, conservatives have lectured black people to drop racial grievance. But now, it seems like a cohort of conservatives are trying to push white victimization politics.
For years, a lot of conservatives were reluctant to even use the term "anti-white." Now, the leader of the GOP is talking about it. No more excuses: It's time for Republicans to stop avoiding or downplaying this issue.
@alex_kirshner
I love how he insists that he's been blackballed from sports media because of his views, when parroting right-wing takes made Outkick wildly successful and made him rich.
@academic_la
Doing interviews rarely helps you, but can certainly hurt you if you say the wrong thing.
Harris would be wise to be as vague as possible and not allow the media to puncture her momentum because journalists want to feel self-important by asking "hard" questions.
@ProfDBernstein
Does any other group get litmus-tested like this? Are Indian Americans excluded for believing in Hindu nationalism? Are Muslims excluded for believing in Islamism?
The explicit singling out of Zionism is purely antisemitism disguised as "social justice."
@IDoTheThinking
I don't think it's fair to take snippets of a few black people being terrible to asians and jump to a conclusion that blacks, in general, have an issue with Asians.
@OliverJia1014
Fascinating that Americans marvel at Japan's cleanliness and safety while not understanding that it takes a great deal of social policing to keep it that way. Americans are used to levels of individualism and obnoxiousness that are not compatible with Japan's lifestyle.
@BGrueskin
The American public does not care about "detailed" policy positions. If anything, detailed positions hurt you because they become political footballs. (See: Elizabeth Warren's struggle to explain Medicare for All)
Trump provides zero detail and no one cares. It does not matter.
@ArmandDoma
Hasan's positions make sense when you remember that the online left isn't motivated by much other than anti-Western hate. They hate the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and other other "white" countries. They love 3rd world and "brown" countries and give them moral impunity.
