Atlanta has a Black mayor, Black police officers, and Black wealth. Yet Atlanta has some of the highest income inequality in the nation and is undergoing rapid gentrification.
“It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”
― James Baldwin
We don’t need Cop City. We need access to housing.
We don’t need Cop City. We need access to food.
We don’t need Cop City. We need proper payment for our work.
We don’t need Cop City. We need access to healthcare.
We don’t need Cop City. We need a new economy, a new society.
“We’re taught at such an early age to be against the communists, yet most of us don’t have the faintest idea what communism is. Only a fool lets somebody else tell him who his enemy is.” -Assata Shakur
In Mississippi a Black worker was being followed around by White men in trucks yelling slurs at him and threatening to kill him. His body was later found decapitated. Here is the story:
The Black community is disabled. The Black community is trans. The Black community is lesbian. The Black community is gay. The Black community is intersex. The Black community is poor. The Black community is homeless. Black liberation is for all or is for none.

just censored our upcoming event with
@palyouthmvmt
to discuss the connections between Palestinian liberation and Black liberation, and to plan ways to take action against our shared oppression.
AmeriKKKa doesn’t want you to know that many major figures in the struggle for Black liberation were socialists or communists. From W.E.B. Du Bois to Fred Hampton, countless Black leaders have seen socialism as key to our complete liberation.
We do not need the next MLK or Malcolm X. You are the ones you have been waiting for. No group or personality can liberate you. It is a collective process in which millions of people will have a part to play in.
Imagine an end to landlords charging you exorbitant prices for substandard housing. Imagine healthy food being a basic human right. Imagine no longer having to live in fear of the cops. Imagine community-based community defense. Imagine a better future.
“Schools in amerika are interested in brainwashing people with amerikanism, giving them a little bit of education, and training them in skills needed to fill the positions the capitalist system requires. - Assata Shakur
Spelman and Morehouse students, faculty and alumni continue to protest against the US sponsored genocide of Palestinians by Israel on the eve of the Morehouse administrations invite to give genocide Joe Biden an honorary degree.
Today we honor and salute the revolutionary life and work of Burkina Faso leader Thomas Sankara, assassinated by imperialists and neo-colonialists on this day in 1987.
Today in 1831 the Great Jamaican Revolt began. At least 60,000 enslaved Africans led by Samuel Sharpe organized a general strike that became a full scale rebellion that eventually led to the abolition of slavery (on paper) in the British Empire. The power of organized resistance.
Atlanta as a city claims to honor the legacy of protest and dissent that was part of the Civil Rights movement, but when people act to continue that legacy, the city labels them as “terrorists”. This is the hypocrisy of the powers that be.

This is a great time to join an organization. Organization is important because we need to use collective action in order to overcome this capitalist system.
“We want power. We don’t want money, we don’t want fame, we don’t want fortune, we don’t want popularity. We want power. Power. And power comes only from the organized masses.”-Kwame Ture
It's important to recognize that when the state starts calling protestors and activists outside agitators or terrorists, that this is a continuation of a worldwide fascistic trend aimed at suppressing dissent.
Some people ask if Cop City is only a local to Atlanta thing. The answer is no. A large percentage of pigs that will be trained there will be coming from outside of Atlanta. If the project is completed, it will be repeated elsewhere.
Don’t stop talking about Palestine. Don’t stop taking to the streets for Palestine. We must continue to do everything we can in order to oppose the Zionist occupation of Palestine and the genocide that is being waged against the Palestinian people.
Is Killer Mike really saying that it’s impossible to stop Cop City because the state and capitalists paid money for it or is it that 5 million dollar net worth getting to his head? (Spoiler alert: It's the latter.)
#StopCopCity
Destruction of property is not violence. The pigs killing a protester is violent. The pigs pointing guns in bouncy houses is violent. The pigs mass arresting people is violent. The pigs threatening to shoot people is violent.
Solidarity to Haiti. The Haitian revolution was an inspiration to Enslaved Africans all throughout the Americas. Haiti is now under the thumb of American imperialism and its neocolonial leaders. They deserve our solidarity.
The water shortage in Jackson, Mississippi, an 81.16% Black city in one of the Blackest parts of the Blackbelt, is part of an epidemic of water shortages in the region and a consequence of settler-colonial environmental racism.
Atlanta is a segregated city that presents itself as a city that's "too busy to hate". Cop City will make Atlanta an example of police militarization and oppression.
The Black Panther Party wasn't all about guns, leather jackets, and berets. They engaged in various forms of organizing and protest. They fed children, organized in communities, on campuses, and established international connections.
Stop Cop City because militarized police will kill oppressed people.
Stop Cop City because it will destroy Atlanta’s forest.
Stop Cop City because it's being built on stolen land.
Stop Cop City because it wastes the people’s money.
“To educate the masses politically does not mean, cannot mean, making a political speech. What it means is to try, relentlessly and passionately, to teach the masses that everything depends on them" -Frantz Fanon
They said this event was going to incite violence?? How?? This is violent! Silencing opposition to genocide, settler colonialism and imperialism is violent!
“I think that the greatest betrayal that a revolutionary can participate in is to become like the people you are struggling against. To become like your persecutors. I think that is a betrayal and a sin." - Assata Shakur
Black communities are heat islands & are 20 degrees hotter than white communities due to redlining. Thus our people die at a higher rate during climate change heat waves. We must continue to organize to protect the environment & fight environmental racism
Combatting individualism is an essential aspect of revolutionary organizing. At some point you have to choose whether you will do for self, or for your community.
We don't need revolutionary posturing or artificial wokeness. What we need is consistent concrete material work in our communities based in mass action and solidarity.
People will try to say that voting for this or that candidate will bring change. These claims are categorically false. Here are some ways that you can be politically engaged without voting:
"And when I speak, I don't speak as a Democrat, or a Republican, or an American. I speak as a victim of America's so-called democracy. You and I have never seen democracy; all we've seen is hypocrisy." - Malcolm X
"People get used to anything. The less you think about your oppression, the more your tolerance for it grows. After a while, people just think oppression is the normal state of things. But to become free, you have to be acutely aware of being a slave." - Assata Shakur
Atlanta is increasingly becoming a police state. Right now, dissent is being viciously criminalized and people are facing serious legal action for standing in opposition to a military training facility for the police. At the same time, the jails are killing people.
Angela Davis Says "Stop Cop City"
Davis says if Cop City is built it 'Will represent a major setback for the movement of radical democratic futures"
#StopCopCity
Start organizing small. Find your folks. Build slowly. Do the things that aren't sexy or get you attention. Do them consistently and grow. You will see results.
And when I speak, I don't speak as a Democrat, or a Republican, or an American. I speak as a victim of America's so-called democracy. You and I have never seen democracy; all we've seen is hypocrisy." - Malcolm X
Some clips and photos from last night's march and rally against police terror. Black people don't want Cop City! Nobody wants Cop City! Cop City will never be built!

Community Movement Builders Detroit has just purchased our 3rd community house. As part of a larger strategy, we need to control property to keep our communities from gentrifying. Please support us so we can do the repairs needed on this property. $cmborg or at our website.
Get organized. Join an organization. If there’s no organization that you like form one. If you can't form an organization, form a network, collective, affinity group, or group of well-trusted people to do work with and start off small. All power to the people!
Childcare is also a part of the organizing work! Many people have trouble participating in organizations and in mass movements because they have to care for their children.
