Walk into a HS gym in a small Midwest town at the end of girls JV game. Packed. Entire town here to support on a Friday night. The smell of popcorn, energy from the band, the squeaks of sneakers on the hardwood. Nothing better. HS players, ENJOY it. It’s a beautiful thing 🏀

Recruits: It’s not about the buildings, landscape, facilities…those things can’t change how you feel. They can’t help support you when you struggle, develop, or challenge you for more. Things can’t do that, only people can. People will make your college experience, not things.

I miss going to watch HS basketball games. I miss driving through small towns, I miss the friendly greeting of a volunteer selling tickets, I miss sitting on bleachers in gyms packed with members of the local community, & above all..I miss watching kids play the game they love 🏀

I like workers…people who just put their head down & work. No talk, no complaining, no wishing, no looking to their left or right to see who’s watching…nothing but intentional, purposeful work. Workers may not always win in the moment…but they most certainly win in the end.

Sitting here watching AAU and it is the worst to watch coaches who do nothing but yell AT their kids...key words, 'their kids.' Coaches, they are YOUR KIDS. Coach them, teach them, challenge them, help them...that is your job. Yelling & berating them is not coaching. Be better.

Recruits: Go where you are wanted. College coaches will all tell you they want you through conversation, a scholarship offer, ‘liking’ your posts… The ones who really want you will show you through their ACTIONS. Talk is easy…action is the separator.

My mother comes to visit for roughly 12 hrs.. -made a pan of brownies(I’m vegan) -brought 15lb bag of potatoes (just bc I like potatoes) -brought me 5lb bag of apples (like those too) -set up porch lights -brought quarters for the meters -came to support our team Mom, come back

Never feel like u have to explain who you are to others. U were made uniquely beautiful..how u look,what u believe,how u choose to live. If u live a life of conviction & purpose,& others dont understand, that’s on them..not u. Its more than ok to be the exception, not the rule.

Coaches want players who WIN possessions, not players who merely play them...whether it be offensively or defensively, we want competitors who WIN possessions...because players who play possessions tend to lose games & players who WIN possessions tend to...well, win. #FilmThought

Appreciate our staff & players so much. People don’t see all that goes into ‘off’ days, the weeknights, & weekends..it isn’t a 9-5 M-F check-in / check-out. Our job is people & relationships, & that’s a 24/7 lifestyle. ❤️ my #RedHawkFam I get to live it with #OneDay
