There are many different ways to set up Rest-Defense.
The Rest-Defense setup should look to accomplish the following:
*Gain space in the att.3rd
*Support possession in the final 3rd
*Eliminate transition moments
*Reduce/eliminate passing options
*Exploit opponent weaknesses
Counter-pressing is more than just running hard individually; it is calculated & organized as a team to eliminate as many passing options as possible.
The most crucial aspect of counter-pressing is that it is consistently trained to instill the pack mentality in your players.

Dear 2026 PSAs,

Scanning is a critical skill in ⚽️, but it can often be under-taught.

Rondo’s are a great training activity.
You can manipulate them to teach different attacking &/or defensive concepts.
They can be used to teach a variety of technical skills.
You can set them up in different areas of the field to align with specific match situations.
Empowered players create phenomenal moments. Understanding time, space, and how to positionally rotate/interchange are very important elements in a successful build.
