Saw a post on social media about HS coaches not posting stats on Max Preps and that’s costing kids scholarships. Coached for 23 years. Never once had a college coach ask about Max Preps stats. Am I missing something? Anyone had kids signed off Max Preps stats?
Solid list but you can apply

to every phase of football. High school teams that can keep calm in pressure situations tend to be teams who win more than they lose.
If you’re a football coach with a bus ride to an away game we all know this struggle is real. Coaching buddy of mine in Georgia made this. He just might be into something
Picked up an interesting nugget from my guy
@CoachDubMaddox
in Atlanta last weekend. Post-Over is the most productive shot concept in the NFL. 58% completion and 38% explosive rate. Ran this play and double post over for years
Boy Oh Boy......it’s so much more than 3 hours on a Friday night but ask any football coach and we will all day there’s nothing else we would rather do......unless we win the lottery 🤔

Some great stuff in this clip but this statement is so true. Takes time, experience and perspective to finally see what the game of football means and what it does for us
Interesting graphic from the Wall Street Journal about the 49ers using bunch sets. Their sets make defenses cover 19.9 yds. Shanahan takes a backwards approach. Open up grass outside-in instead of inside-out like spread sets do. Unique perspective
The dang starting salary for Sp Tm Coordinator with zero years experience is $70K??!!??!! You guys are living right down in Texas

One of our coaches heard Josh Heupel speak last week. His offensive philosophy
Throw what the Q can throw
Run what the OL can block
Feed your studs the ball
Here’s a clinic idea. QB coaches get together and discuss
•Throwing programs
•Player film work
•Daily warm up routines
•Daily drills
No fluff. No 7on7 circuit mess. Just ball coaches sharing what makes a QB play better on the grass
@PHSCoachJones
let’s get this done
There’s a huge difference between interested and committed. Missouri is definitely the latter in regard to outside zone. Love It!!!!

One day your coach won't blow the whistle, the scoreboard won't light up and the fans won't be there to cheer you on. You'll still have "teammates" but they won't be wearing helmets. Never forget, character is who you are when nobody's watching. Be the best YOU possible
So many people to thank. I loved coaching
@westrebelsfb
and working for
@LamarBrown15
and

. I’m proud to announce that I’ve accepted the Offensive Coordinator position at Cleveland HS. So excited to get started with
@wheel_marty
and the Blue Raiders!
If you had to use only ONE six man protection vs an Odd front which are you choosing:
•Big on Big / RB dual read ILB
•Four man slide / RB dual read ILB to OLB
Adjustment to 2/3 man Snag. I hate corner routes. Every kid runs them differently. They never hit the same spot. Why not run a 10yd out (Y Flood). It’s more consistent. Still get the vertical stretch on the alley player. Corner has to decide. Progression read high-low.
I’ve been asked several times how I feel about the 2019 season. This sums it up. Fans will see fourteen 3x6 notecards. Players see my call sheet. I see memories from summer workouts, fall camp, practice, the wt room & hundreds of hours spent watching film on 14 pieces of paper
Saw a great question on a Facebook post. If you could only run ten plays (run-pass-screen) what would they be?
Mine are:
1. Wide Zone
2. Inside Zone
3. Power Read
4. RB Slow Screen
5. All Hitches
6. Snag
7. Double Post - Deep Over
8. Post - Dig
9. Curl - Flat
10. WR Fast Screen
I’ve had so many coaches tell me it would fly by and man they were right. This is what the last game of a senior’s career looks like for a coaching family. I’m thankful for the last three years sharing the field with our son. Football will never be the same for me
I know of three football coaches who’ve stopped coaching to work with Door Dash / Instacart / Uber Eats. They all say the same thing: more money & less time. We sure do live in interesting times
HC/OC/DC tell young guys don’t chase job titles but they’re in jobs w/ those titles. Best advice I’ve got is chase jobs that give you more responsibility. That in turn gives you more opportunities to grow. Remember, be quick but don’t hurry

Football seasons end fast. Ours did tonight. In triple OT 48-45 at Mercedes Benz Stadium. It really sucks. It hurts. But I walk in the door at home & my 20yd old son hugs me & says “so you’re gonna be dad for awhile now”. Coaches get what he means. Yeah kid, you’re right ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I swear I saw a video where
@BallCoachJoeMo
ran a counter read where he read the play side box ILB. Any clue what he called that play? Maybe I dreamt it 🤷🏻♂️
This is the first real lesson you’ll learn as an OC. I know it was for me. Having answers and knowing what your kids can do consistently are huge when calling plays.
On the last day of school I always enjoy it when teachers ask “you got big plans this summer coach”. Well we’ve got workouts at 7am tomorrow so there’s that 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I’m in the minority with this opinion. Private QB coaches & 7on7 coaches. At some point if a kid simply isn’t a QB don’t you have a responsibility to be honest with him & his family? HS coaches have those conversations constantly. Positions changes that are best for the team.
Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken made it clear he doesn’t view coaching as being part of a family. He knows if things go south, he’ll be looking for a new job.
Monken said the following about his outlook and relationship with Kirby Smart.....

Oversimplified way of teaching one back power. Assign a gap for each player. Gap is on or off the LOS. Simple vs Odd/Even. 3-3 gives it some issues. Opinions?
Stole this from
@CoachSCDub
Want to hear your teaching points for Glance. I know it’s an RPO but I’m curious how you run it as a 3 step play. What’s the combo routes on the same side? Good and Bad.
Okay football coaches…if Twitter blows up where does our coaching network go next? What’s the social media platform we are jumping to? Made too many coaching friends across the country to lose contact over this mess. Options? Thoughts?
OC’s a question. Heard a guy talk about how they work ODD & EVEN fronts every week regardless of their opponent. Thought is most teams carry both fronts now. Still look at specific pressures for that week but always work two fronts. Curious what you do?
There are 525 head football victories represented in this picture. I got 58 of them 🤣🤣
Proud to call Gary Rankin my friend and honored to have worked for him. The 🐐 of high school football in Tennessee
Excited to join the faculty & football staff at Rockmart HS. It’s humbling to join such a proud program that’s filled with tradition & success. A sincere thank you to everyone who’s shared this journey with us for for the last 25 years!
