The most common stat I’ve seen in pitchers entering the portal is high walk ratio’s. What wins in our league and in most are pitchers who have command. I get it “without velocity you won’t get drafted”. Pitch ability is still the winner!

One criteria we base our recruiting on is prior success and good history. Put up good numbers in HS and in the summer, doors will open. Stuff will get our attention but prior success and history will get us interested.
