If your Head Coach isnt providing you opportunities to prepare for your next job, you might not want to be there...should have a culture of NO LATERAL moves...if you have coaches leaving your program for an equal or a lower job title...thats a problem on you as an HC!

Instead of yelling at a kid for acting a fool at an improper time, I walked over to him and said "If you knew how good you could be, you wouldn't act the way you do" and walked away...that did more than any yelling would have done...find different ways to reach kids!

Coaches talk about not finding young coaches on their staff, but it's important to note that while coaches think that assistants only want titles, a lot of coaches see control freak HCs who don't want to help grow young coaches and don't value their opinion..it's a two way street

There are good and bad football teams at majority white high schools. There are good and bad football teams at majority black high schools. Why is it only the good teams at majority white HS's are "well coached"? Stop the narrative that only certain HSs can have good coaching!

When I accepted a position at @HopewellFTBL 3 yrs ago, I attended workouts and there were maybe 20ish kids there..we didn't even have a JV team for the nonconf portion of our schedule..to know that this year, we actually have 80 locked in for the season has me so pumped! PROGRAM!

7 years ago I was asked to be a youth football OC in my 1st yr ever coaching. 2.5 yrs ago I was offered a middle school position when I applied to coach HS (I turned it down). And now I'm an OC in one of the best conferences in the state. NEVER STOP GRINDING!

In case you're keeping score..SC HS football programs can participate in their 2nd scrimmages today..NC football programs are unable to participate in their first scrimmage until Wednesday at the earliest...both programs start their season on 8/19...something must change!

Listening to my 4 year daughter talk about her first time attending one of my HS football games is priceless... her favorite part of the game... the fact that the Lake Norman HS's concessions had Bojangles and hot cocoa...that was BIG for her haha...
