This is what my arms look like after 44 years of natural drug free training. Have a little pump here after 9 sets bis, 9 sets tris. 256 lbs at the moment. The arms should look pretty good when I get to about 235 lbs. I’m in no rush.

In the 80s, early 90s, Folks at the gym got to know each other, spotted each other, went out to eat after, played volleyball and wiffle ball, touch football, had cookouts, weddings, offered jobs….nobody was on a phone, ever.

Please stop asking me “How much did you lose?” Allow me to tell you instead what I have gained. I changed my diet to be about 50% protein and keep carbs very low, under 5% of cals. Standing up for 30 min was a challenge, now Im running for that long. I GAINED FREEDOM.

For years I had to ice my knees after standing to coach. I ran for a full hour non stop yesterday and did not ice and Im 100% pain free. No medications, no anti inflammatory pills- the “secret?”- protein, fat, very low carbs and plenty of water. Its been LIFE CHANGING!

This is what Mass training can do in your late 50s. You may not like it but natural training (drug free) can still result in good size and strength. Being shredded is ok but size and strength means more later in life in my opinion. It’s far more useful.

Age 57. Just hit a Lifetime best 240 lbs on seated press. I’m going to try 245 in a couple of minutes and film from a different angle to show full range of motion. I knew this was going to happen. This is a very successful bulk mode. Rage against age.

Taking the time to weigh food and pay attention to calories has resulted in yet another lost pound. This puts me at 32 lbs lost in 7 weeks. Im still getting 1 gram protein per lb body weight to protect muscle. Today will be another 🏆 win.

Trying to get bigger and stronger at 57. Its not all that different than at any other age- doing this with very low carbs however.
