I’m still amazed with all the info out there and the videos of players like Lebron and Curry lifting on game days that you still have kids saying “I can’t lift it will mess my “game” up? And I’ve never had a strength coach that wouldn’t modify lifts to help BB player? #lazy

Teams holding workouts off campus with “coaches” and players using school equipment is a big stretch of what is allowed, if not a clear violation of the rules. We all want to be working out with our kids but not sure this is what we need to be allowing ?

Using football as an avenue to get to college is a good thing but let’s stop making that the only reason you’re playing. Less than 3 % of kids get athletic scholarships. That leaves a lot of disappointment and broken young men who feel like failures when they don’t make it!

The absolute first question college coaches ask me when we talk about any skill player is “does he run track?” What events and what were his times? I get asked this way more than how many yards did he rush for or interceptions did he have? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Legendary Southwest Onslow football coach Phil Padgett passed away Friday night. He lost his battle with cancer. He had 295 wins (89 by shutout), 69 losses & 4 state titles. But it was his influence on everyone he came in contact with. Many memories on my FB page. RIP coach
