Helene now expected to be a category 3 rather than a category 4 at landfall along the big bend. The forecast cone has also shifted slightly East which will promote a lesser severe threat for metro. Tropical storm conditions still likely in North Georgia. @ATLNewsFirst

I couldn’t help but snap a picture when things were starting to get rough... a little over 4 hours wall to wall... a handful of tornado warnings. This will forever go down as the day I helped cover my first tornado outbreak. Prayers with those dealing with lost homes and damage
