Yesterday Redmond and Kirkland Fire Departments kicked off our Mobile Vaccine Unit. Together, they will vaccinate 77 adult family homes in Redmond, Kirkland, Duvall, and Woodinville over the next several weeks.
We are aware of planned demonstrations in the Downtown Park Friday at noon and 4:30 p.m., and Saturday at 2 p.m. The City encourages our community's rights to a peaceful protest and are prepared to support these events over the next two days.
Two more weather systems are expected to move through our region. The first arrives this afternoon with 1-4” of new snow. The next arrives Monday and is estimated to bring 5-8” of snow. Please continue to avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary.

Redmond Curfew Rescinded The City of Redmond curfew, scheduled from 8 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. tomorrow, has been rescinded. This afternoon's peaceful protest has ended and no further demonstrations are expected. We appreciate your patience.

A first for the Redmond Fire Dept!
On Feb 7, we had our first ever all female on-duty engine company. Firefighter Sawaya, Acting Driver/Eng. Clark & Capt Norman responded on Engine 111 to several incidents including a structure fire, medical assistance & a report of natural gas.
Light rail is coming to Redmond! To prepare for the opening, we want to understand how you will travel to and from the future stations and build a community-chosen pilot project that improves access.

Five Redmond businesses were affected by fire early this morning. Thank you to the first responders who worked to protect life & contain the fire, resulting in no injuries. We are committed to supporting the businesses & individuals affected and keep them in our thoughts.
The tunnel is now open! Trail users will be treated to a vivid color and design experience in the newly upgraded tunnel along the SR 520 trail at NE 40th Street. The tunnel also improves safety by moving pedestrian and bicycle traffic away from the vehicle traffic in that area.
Redmond Fire Dept. responded to a unique call for yesterday.
After hours of trying to stand on slippery ground, the owner of this elderly

called for help. The Fire Dept. was able to assist the horse back to her feet & she walked away uninjured. A happy ending!

Redmond Mayor Angela Birney is issuing a proclamation of Civil Emergency and order effective this evening, imposing a curfew from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. and continuing until terminated by Mayor Birney.

This summer, the 83-acre former Keller Farm, which the City bought in 2015, will be restored to wetlands, providing environmental restoration within our urban growth boundary. Bear Creek will also be enhanced to provide improved salmon habitat.
Be sure to clear sidewalks in front of your home or business if you are able and it is safe to do so! Clearing sidewalks allows everyone to travel safely during a snowstorm, especially people who are blind, disabled, or have a harder time getting around.

The crosswalk at NE 104th St & 172nd Ave NE is 1 of 4 Redmond crosswalks recently enhanced to improve pedestrian & vehicle safety. The brighter contrast of the new red color used provides greater visibility in heavily trafficked & school crossing areas.

To slow the spread of and reduce the number of individuals infected with COVID-19, the City of Redmond is acting on King County Public Health’s latest recommendations to cancel or postpone events & meetings where we expect 10 or more people.

Lines at Redmond’s two ballot drop boxes remain short so far, so come on down and drop off your ballot. While ballots should be dropped off by 8 p.m., King County has clarified that if you are in line at 8 p.m., your ballot will be accepted. But why wait? Vote now.
8 p.m. means 8 p.m. sharp - when the clock strikes 8. Not 8 p.m. and 2 seconds, not 8:02. PLEASE get your ballot in before then. Get it done during the day if you can to take away any worry about making it on time.
Test trains are running on Sound Transit’s 2 Line between South Bellevue Station and Redmond Technology Station every 10–15 minutes in preparation for opening. Be sure you stay safe and look both ways, avoid distractions, and use crosswalks.

Earlier today, Redmond Mayor Angela Birney joined King County Executive Dow Constantine at the announcement of the County’s purchase of the Redmond Silver Cloud Inn to be the next location for King County’s Health Through Housing program.
King County has just completed its fourth hotel purchase through the

Initiative. What was formerly known as the Silver Cloud Inn in Redmond will soon become 144 units of permanent housing for King County residents experiencing chronic homelessness.

The Idylwood Park dock reopened last week. A new aluminum dock was installed with improvements including a non-slip surface, ADA-compliant handrails for fishing activities, and a new swim ladder.
