A question I get a lot is what doing business at a con entails for me.
In short, it is:
-Meeting new clients/friends
-Pitching to companies I think I can provide value to
-Checking in on friends and people I've worked with in the past
-Understanding what is working at the show
Why Kyoto Animation matters.
It's a rare case of an anime studio comprised of passionate, enthusiastic, well-compensated individuals with a healthy working environment.
It's made of passion.

Pro-Tip: Going to Japan in the near future?
BUY GLASSES
Unlike our inferior American system, you can get a free eye exam (EN is OK), buy fancy frames and customized lenses for a fraction of the cost of eye insurance.
AND they'll be ready in just a couple of hours.
Megane up!
All three of these glasses are custom anime themed, have scratch and blue light protection, and came with custom glasses cases. They in total cost me 500$, as a premium product. For 3 custom, prescription lenses with protection. Normal glasses are half this in other JP shops.
Anime Awards really nailed it this year, it was pretty easy to follow along, a lot of the winners made sense, and I think it did its job to get more people to check out series outside their comfort zone.
Speaking of which I think I need to watch Beastars
#AnimeAwards
Last week at AnimeNYC I met a person, and within the first 2 minutes
"This series is trash"
"This voice actress is just using the same voice and getting away with it"
"I am garbage so I like this"
"That girl is so bad"
Why do anime fans do this? I'd rather hear what you love.
Sound Euphonium!/Hibike! Euphonium was animated extremely well for band scenes and sections mostly due to the personal involvement of animators' experiences in marching bands.
In fact, even the people that aren't animating but running the gift shop are just as enthusiastic---
Brief reminder of how protected Dragonball is as an IP in light of the DBFZ pullout
Never forget the Mexican governor was sent a cease and desist request from the Japan Embassy when he thought it was a good idea to have a group viewing
Embassy of Japan in Mexico sent a note to a Mexican governor regarding the public airing of Dragon Ball Super's last two eps, asking to suspend it if its illegal because of Toei's author rights.
Where were you when Dragon Ball became the subject of a diplomatic note?
A personal experience I had visiting the official KyoAni shop in Uji, Kyoto- The moment I walked in the guy behind the register quickly asked me in Japanese "Where are you from!?"
..."Ah, I love Euphonium too, she's great!"
... "We're so happy to meet a foreign fan from the USA!"
I don't think you understand how much Granblue Fantasy product is on display at Anime Expo
there's no official support for the game outside of a translation outside of Japan, the game requiring Japanese registration hoops to get started in first place lol
#GranblueFantasy
I still could not believe how genuine my visit was as a tourist, but also all the stories I hear about the offices and the programs to make students that dream of being animators to come true.
Please donate if you can.
It is with great honor that I announce I've joined
@sekaiproject
as Global Brand Manager.
I owe many professional anime career opportunities to this company and its predecessors. It's my hope to create a real change in the anime market, and serve the fan communities around it.
If you're wondering what this kinda scrubby Japanese sentence says, it's validating that the link I provided is from the official distributor of many Kyoto Animation properties. There's a Japanese buzz to be careful of donating to shady links, so
@SentaiFilmworks
twitter it is.

The comments section definitely shows people's priorities mismatched

Beginner Tip in
#BBTAG
:
Play through ALL of the Tactics mode. You'll learn how to do basic combos with your character, understand the mechanics of the game, and know how to do everything possible.
It's very detailed and highly recommended to get started!
Noire is unfairly cute.
Thanks again
@IdeaFactoryIntl

Line on Priority near West hall is a mess. Flow of traffic cuts off premiers that lined up since 5AM, and there isn't much line moderation. Exhibitors are being forced through this 3 kiosk entry too and 4 day passes for whatever reason are also lined up here.

One year at Japan Expo I met the art director for the Phoenix Wright series Tatsuro Iwamoto and was able to request since he was free:
"How about Maya on her off day with her hair down?"
YOU'RE WELCOME INTERNET Kappa
Tomorrow, Monday at 7PM PST.
Grab a snack and sit back, as we contemplate, what is a Nep? When there are two Neps, what time is it?

See you for HyperDimension Neptunia Re;Birth1!
Vtuber timeline is once again talking about how bad "Only 10 people showed up to my debut."
10 is amazing.
95% of people that newly stream see 0 for years. It's a fact of a saturated market.
Being a vtuber doesn't magically give you fame--make sure you're having fun first.
5000 Followers.
I'm so thankful. Thank you so much to everyone that has supported my channel up to this point. From the people that regularly lurk, to the people that yell at me in public "HEY IS THAT TWITCH DOT TEE VEE FORWARD SLASH CHUN AND RICE". Stay godlike.
Honestly it was a stark reminder that it's really "in trend" to be self-deprecating, when it shouldn't. Love what you love and don't let anyone tell you that you're otherwise for doing so.
It's infinitely more interesting to hear why you like something than it is to crap on it.
Thank you so much to everyone that turned out for my Birthday stream, I'm LV32.
Humongous shoutout to
@Shibukaho
for raiding me during karaoke time.
Suddenly turned into a birthday live.
Thank you to everyone that donated and subbed to celebrate, all my❤️
P.S. NEW LOGO REVEAL
