Can't believe it really happened.
Just got the email this afternoon I got in for grad school at Boston College with enough of a scholarship to make it financially viable.
Been dreaming about this since I was a kid going to hockey games at Conte with my aunt.
I'm Coming home.
I think I speak for all BC fans when I say how impressed by Holy Cross’ fans and student section I was.
2 hour delay and they never left or shut up. Probably outnumbered BC fans 5 to 1 easily at the restart.
One of the best student sections I’ve ever seen.
This doesn’t even do the student section justice…absolutely took over the place tonight; believe sections 306-315 were packed with students. BU had about 1 1/2 full.
Thank you guys for all your support, I’m glad I found people who love BC athletics as much as me.
As I said, I’m never changing and never apologizing for who I am. Boston College till the day I die.
Let’s do it again Sunday.
Breaking: Quinnipiac has filed an appeal due to the game winning goal not being reviewed for improper entry.
If successful (likely), the game will resume with 16:54 left in the first overtime, It will be played either at an AHL rink (Providence) or at Conte on Wednesday.
Bold prediction:
Boston College will go into Blacksburg at 5-1 and play a 6-0 VT team in the biggest game the program has been in since Gameday was here in 2018.
Found my old Super Fan shirt I got over a decade ago at my first BC hockey game.
So happy
@BCEagles
are bringing them back this year. Student section always looked better as a sea of gold.
Four year rotation;
South Bend, Dublin, Boston, Paris.
Theoratically a player will play one at home and one based on the heritage of their school during a normal four year career.
Cutter Gauthier put off the NHL because in his words “he hasn’t won anything yet.”
He’s got a chance to win a championship a month for the first third of 2024.
January: World Juniors
February: Beanpot
March: Hockey East
April: National Championship

“And the 0-8 Eastern Michigan Eagles, have fired their coach, lost eight starters to the portal, and are now stuck behind a cement wall.”
Want to say how much I appreciate the BC Twitter community, always make me feel like I belong despite not attending BC.
I’ve loved BC athletics since I was a little kid so sharing that with a group that are just as passionate means a lot.
Till the echoes ring again my friends.
Just confirmed earlier I will be interviewing Friday afternoon for the MBA program at BC/CSOM.
Said since the start, all I’ve wanted is a chance and to get into that room. Excited for the opportunity.
This “failure of an athletics program”
Is now on a 4 game win streak in football with a path to the ACC title game.
Potentially going to be
#1
in hockey.
Have their best roster in a decade plus for mens basketball.
And has had a packed student section the past few weeks.
“Boston College is an embarrassment to the state of Massachusetts and the ACC”
Had some fun discussing yesterdays biggest game on
@UnnecRoughness
: NIU beating Boston College.
Go watch/listen now:
This one hit me hard. My earliest memories of BC games were watching a little guy (with too many vowels in his last name), that couldn’t be touched on the ice tear up opposing defenses.
Rest in peace to one of the greatest Eagles of all time, you’ll be greatly missed.
Johnny Hockey deserved the nickname 100% He’s a guy who worked hard to get to where he was and made a lot of people’s lives a lot better. Even though none of us got to see them play at BC for ourselves, their influence in the program can be seen. RIP Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau.
Huge get for Earl Grant; top-150 nationally, top 30 at his position.
6’10 and can play the 4 or 5 but from what I tell will be a 4 at BC. Was listed as a center earlier in the recruiting process but has since been moved to PF/Wing. Gives the Eagles some size.
Was a kid during the last true golden era of BC hockey. Fell in love with this school watching Gaudreau and Co do their thing. First time in a decade or so it’s felt like that. Student support makes it even better. We’re so back.
BC students have punched way above their weight supporting some really hard-to-watch teams across almost (I see you
@BCwlax
) every sport for a while now. Just look at the football student section the last few years. They've definitely earned finally having a winner to get behind.
The Dodgers found a genius way to capitalize on high interest rates to make the Ohtani contract much more palatable in-terms of Competitive Balance Tax considerations.
A thread on how they did it:
John West, pitching in a game fundraising for the disease that took his dad, just shoved for seven plus innings.
One of the gutsiest performances I’ve ever seen in college baseball. West has the Eagles in prime position to win the game and the series.
Something that got a little lost in the shuffle of a great weekend.
Birdball picked up a massive ACC series sweep over Georgia Tech.
The Eagles jump up 38 spots in the RPI, all the way to
#34
in the country.
Boston College is not only currently slated to host a regional if the season ended today. They’re only one spot away from being in position to host a Super Regional.
Need June baseball at Harrington.
Boston College had the second largest increase in attendance per game for hockey at 1,853.
Wisconsin was
#1
at 2,059.
Maine and UMass were only others over a thousand (1,358; 1,042).
BU rounded out top 5 (957).
Great season for
@hockey_east
in-terms of attendance.
Rooting guide for the weekend:
Wake Forest over Duke (Thursday)
BC over Syracuse (Friday)
Georgia Tech over Virginia
Florida State over Pitt
*unless FSU looks terrible*
Virginia Tech over Louisville
*biggest non-BC game of the weekend*
Miami over NC State
Students that entered UMass in ‘21 have seen:
BC sweep, get all 6 points on final weekend to deny UMass HE title; entered week up 5 points.
BC win Frozen Fenway
BC beat WBB at Mullins
BC win Baseball Beanpot vs UMass
BC WLax win 22-5 in Amherst.
BC football win at McGuirk
‼️🚨BREAKING🚨‼️
Boston College is on the board with a MASSIVE addition in Callum Croskery!
One of the top Canadian prospects looking to go NCAA route.
The ‘08 born forward had 52 points last season for the Oakville Rangers. Was a first round USHL tender by
@ChicagoSteel
and
Tafara Gapare is currently listed in UMass student database.
Gapare is a 4 star, top 50 player in the country and top player in Connecticut (247) for Class of ‘23.
Crystal ball prediction for UMass was added today on 247. Would be a reclass to ‘22.
Bold prediction:
Boston College will go into Blacksburg at 5-1 and play a 6-0 VT team in the biggest game the program has been in since Gameday was here in 2018.
Call me crazy but BC has a path to the CFP next year.
No one on that schedule scares me. Florida State is the toughest opponent and that’s a home game. Maybe at Pitt or at Syracuse? Holy Cross could be interesting.
Definitely some tough games but they’re all winnable.
Big news personally ahead of Week One for me
I’ll be joining Giovanni Culotta on
@WZBCSports
broadcast of BC’s season opener this Saturday again NIU
Those of you that know me, know it’s been my dream to call a BC game
Thankful for the opportunity, hopefully the first of many
Boston College Baseball ends the first weekend at
#4
in the RPI.
Obviously it's highly volatile and fairly meaningless this early in the season, but still something interesting to track.
Sources: Bill O’Brien has been on campus since yesterday afternoon. The school is currently using Paul Chryst as leverage to drive down O’Briens contract.
Its Bills job if the number matches
So to be clear he’s just talking out of his ass right?
BC came into the year at
#6
and was
#2
and
#1
in the two December polls.
This run was in no way “very unexpected”.
Huge personal news:
I’ll be making my return to
@WZBCSports
as the color commentator for this afternoon’s matchup between
#1
Boston College and
#11
University of Massachusetts.
Dream come true being on the air for Eagles hockey at Conte.
What ever bag it takes, throw at Ryan Leonard . Do it
@HeightsFriends
. There isn’t one athlete at this school that is more important to a team the most people care about.
A (since deleted) comment by Will Smith on Instagram seemingly implies Gabe Perrault will be back tomorrow.
Time will tell if it’s just gamesmanship or if they best line in college hockey is reunited.
Boston College (entering yesterday's games) is listed as the first team out of NIT according to
Florida State is listed as fifth team out of NIT.
BC is listed as 14th and FSU as 10th team out according to
@thebarkingcrow
Huge game tonight.
Just going through the BC schedule and noticed one weird quirk.
The Eagles will go over a month without playing a game on a Saturday.
After playing at Virginia on October 5th, they won't play another weekend game until November 9th vs Syracuse.
Knew it's where I wanted to end up from the first time I stepped foot on campus and is well worth the couple extra years I had to wait.
Can't wait to spend the next two years at my favorite place on Earth.
Beat the "didn't get in there" allegations.
Would love Boston College to set something similar up for all sports. Would gladly donate tickets to games I can’t make to whatever cause (military, youth teams, etc).
Hey Vol Fans, if you're unable to make it to any baseball games this season, consider taking advantage of the new DONATE feature on your Ticketmaster account! Your tickets will be donated back to Tennessee Athletics and will be distributed to the military and/or local charities
Special thanks to
@SickoEsquires
and
@brettrid3r
for their help during the application process and to all the sickos on here who have supported me and treated me as one of their own even when I wasn't enrolled at BC.
And
@WZBCSports
y'all got room in the booth next year?
BOSTON COLLEGE WOMEN’S LACROSSE IS HEADED BACK TO IT’S 5TH-STRAIGHT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
WITH A CHANCE TO DEFEND THEIR TITLE AND GO BACK-TO-BACK
LET’S GOOOOOOO!!!! 🦅🦅🦅
Athletics is arguably BC’s biggest advantage/differentiator over the local schools they compete with (mainly BU, Northeastern, and a few others).
Those schools don’t have football, let along FBS, P5 football. I know for a fact some students picked BC over those for that reason.
One of the biggest knocks on the spring game has been student turn out which is usually very sparse. Bill O’Brien works hard to get them there and then the students rally with a plan, that gets immediately shut down by BC admin?
Come on BC be better.
Boston College notes:
Can finish no lower than
#9
93% chance at a top-4 seed (48% at
#1
overall)
BU only has an 8% chance at a top-2 seed (1% at top seed); very good for BC's chances to be placed in Providence.
Gives BC a 38% chance to win Hockey East tournament.
🚨 LATEST FIELD OF 64 🚨
The latest projections are out, and while
@ClemsonBaseball
continues to gain ground in the top eight, there’s some shifting when it comes to bubble teams.
Good Knight.
Love to see him back on the ice and with the cup, he's got a long bright future in front of him.
A World Junior's Gold Medalist and now a Stanley Cup Champion.
My somewhat crazy proposal for BC athletics is to significantly raise prices for season tickets but give a refund for each game you actually attend:
Example: Raise basketball tickets from $100 to $200 but give $10 back per game attended.
2023 was a building year for Boston College athletics.
Football winning a bowl after a 3 win season.
Basketball finally feels as it has righted the ship.
Hockey is back where they belong atop the polls.
Baseball cracked the top ten during the season.
@matt_skillings
Hockey east want UMass out of the conference. They don’t like them and don’t want them anywhere near the tournament. It’s Boston teams or bust for
@hockey_east
