The infamous Yankees Letter ... is pretty much a nothing-burger. Says the Yankees used their replay room to decode catchers' signs and relay them to runners on second -- which multiple teams were doing. Does not find they were illicitly using CF camera. @martinonyc had it first.

Bishop Assistant Coach Cody Perez was killed in a single car accident last night on FM 70. He was just 29 years old. Perez was a former Moody Trojans baseball player who graduated in 2012. Condolences to the Perez family and Bishop and Moody communities.

I can sadly report that former Tuloso-Midway baseball coach Todd Akers passed away this morning from prostate cancer. Akers was first diagnosed two years ago, but stepped aside during the ‘22 season to focus on his fight with the disease. He will be missed in the Coastal Bend.

Legendary South Texas baseball coach David Salinas calls it a career after serving as the head coach for Falfurrias for 34 seasons. Salinas won a state title with the Jersey Bulls in 1991, had multiple runs to the state tournament and finishes his career with over 700 wins.

It’s been six years since I lost my Dad and it hasn’t gotten any easier without him. What I wouldn’t give to talk to him one last time. Tell your parents you love them. Cherish the time you have with them. Sadly it doesn’t last forever.
