One of the sweet little things you can do to change the world around you is changing how you talk about non-humans; By the basics, using "them" instead of "it", but also changing your way of regarding them, to show you treat them as equals. Be an example and people will notice.

Ears back show concern or distress; direct eye contact and barking means the person behind the camera makes him uncomfortable; raised eyebrows and non-aggressive stance mean it's just a warning. He likely defends his territory and asks them to leave. It's not that hard, really.

@doggydaemons As someone whose partner has a beautiful double coat, I can relate. The upside to that is, he sheds only twice a year, so brush & vacuum for a week or two will take care of the western bushes floating around the house
