TWO Alabama police officers have been shot and killed in the line of duty in 7 days.
No protest in the streets, No breaking news for days on end, no viral photos, no speeches in the streets demanding justice. Just two families getting a visit from a Chief & a Chaplain.
This is American law enforcement! Running into the line of fire to save lives. You can talk about defunding the police but when the gunfire starts the โdefundersโrun away and the police run in and risk everything.
This flag was carried during the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944 by a dear friend of mine. It hangs in my office to never forget the sacrifices made to keep us free.

Officers are being injured and killed because of irresponsible rhetoric.
The fact that the MSM and those pushing the false narrative that โlaw enforcement is the problemโ matters.
As the Nation mourns the loss of Deputy Bill Smith of the Baldwin Co Sheriffโs Office. Deputy Smith died attempting to rescue swimmers at Ft Morgan. Deputy Sydney Wentworth was released from the hospital. Our prayers are with you and your families.

Silence is not a winning strategy. Police leaders must speak up, especially against false narratives. If you donโt speak up, someone else will fill that void.
Officers make split second decisions that attorneys and courts dissect for years. They are placed in very bad positions dealing with very bad people. But they continue to do the job, not for the money and certainly not for the vile spewed by some, but because they care.
Our job as Chiefs is to push back on the false statements and anti police rhetoric and support our officers, not make the job harder. The job is difficult enough without the rhetoric. We also have to hold bad officers accountable. We should be leading the way not standing silent.
We see officers attacked and ambushed more and more by individuals who have bought into the false narrative that police are the problem. These attackers and false narratives are the real problem with society. America is in serious trouble if it doesnโt.
How do we stop...
Use of force,
Officer involved shootings,
Vehicle/foot pursuits?
โผ๏ธCOMPLIANCEโผ๏ธ. Use common sense, complain later. Itโs not that hard.
Only one profession in America runs toward the sound of gunfire in our communities everyday. The American police officer, not because of the pay but because they care about the communities they serve.

Over 58,000 police officers were assaulted in the line of duty in 2018. And that number was only collected from 2/3 of law enforcement agencies. We must push back on the false narratives that LE is the problem in America.
#FactsMatter
support LEOโs.
This type of irresponsible rhetoric is pathetic. She should be held accountable for her inflammatory behavior. Citizens and officers are being injured and killed because of this type of rhetoric. Stop the undermining, and allow the justice system to work.
We canโt bury our heads in the sand when it come to backing our officers. We must push back on attacks to LE and the propogation of false narratives that says LE the problem in todayโs society. Elected officials should be out front condemning the violence.

I will be supporting
@jeffsessions
for US Senate. Sessions has the experience to help the people of Alabama. He is also endorsed by ICE along with many other Police organizations. He is a man who doesnโt waver when it comes to his beliefs and Iโm Proud to call him my friend.
When you attack a police officer you attack the very fabric of society. We see officers attacked daily by individuals who have bought into the false narrative that police are the problem. These attackers and false narratives are the real problem with society.
We must, and will push back on the false narratives toward police. To the officers across our country keep up the good work and know the majority of Americans support you. Donโt allow the few who seem to get the headlines get you down. L.E. is a noble calling. Stay safe!
If you think defunding the police and ending qualified immunity is a good idea, you are part of the problem not the solution. The communities who need officers the most will be the ones hurt the most.
#supportyourpolice
America doesnโt have a law enforcement problem, it has a compliance problem. Follow directions, donโt resist, comply, and complain later. Use common sense.
#dontresist
Many things including criminal justice reform, bail reform, defund movement, political decisions that have led to the crime problems we see across the country. Some people need to be incarcerated not walking our streets.
WAKE UP PEOPLE...We have cited 7 drivers already during this school year for running stopped school buses. STOP FOR SCHOOL BUSES! STOP FOR OUR CHILDREN. ๐๐
This photo on social media tore me up this afternoon. PLEASE, only buy what you need! When you excessively buy, others are left out of necessities. PLEASE check on the elderly. If you canโt here, call us we will. Now is the time to step up and help those in need.
Our job as Chiefs is to push back on the false statements and anti police rhetoric and support our officers, not make the job harder. The job is difficult enough without the rhetoric. We also have to hold bad officers accountable. We should be leading the way.
Anti police rhetoric fuels violence towards officers. We must push back on these false narratives and violent rhetoric. Officers are being injured and killed due to it.

People continue to see gun violence and wonder why? When you allow violent felons to walk our streets and not keep them behind bars the violence continues. The revolving door doesnโt work. The evidence is all around us.

Your career is what you make of it. No one owes you anything. Work hard, and help as many people as you can, while you can. Law enforcements is and always will be a noble profession.
In recognition of โ420โ day we will be glad to weight your stash and give you an accurate weight. We will also make you our special guest. Just come on by. Snacks will be provided.
If you are a head of Department and you donโt stand up publicly for your officers because you are scared of political backlash, you should take a long look in the mirror, because you are NOT helping them or the profession. It is our job to push back on false narratives.

Anti police rhetoric fuels violence towards officers. We must push back on these false narratives and violent rhetoric. Officers are being injured and killed due to it. Prime example is New York City over the passed several weeks.

***BREAKING***- Patrol units spotted Santa in east Oxford just moments ago. Kids need to be in bed. We hope you all have a very Merry and safe Christmas. ๐๐ -CBP
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the men and women of the Lowndes County Sheriffโs Department and family of Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams who was shot and killed in the line of duty this evening.

It is sickening to see what these four officers have done to law enforcement. It is up to all of us as officers, supervisors, and administrators to make sure it doesnโt happen. Some people do not deserve to wear the badge.

Our law enforcement officers are on the streets 24/7, still answering the calls to service to make sure our families are safe, even during a pandemic. What are the anti police and false narrative pushers doing to help? NOTHING. Support your first responders.
#EnoughIsEnough
To those who complain about roads being closed I ask you this question, what is a family members life worth? I for one have never been able to put a price on that. Iโll take that heat every day all day for closing roads in hazardous conditions. Iโm not jeopardizing lives!
Iโve had to deal with more disrespectful people this week than I have in a while. Zero respect for law enforcement, zero respect for the judicial system. News flash... I donโt take well to disrespecting those who sacrifice to keep you safe! Just because you think your entitled.
So a cartoon character who hunts rabbits can no longer have a gun, but kids can still play GTA and other violent video games? Paw Patrol is attacked because it promotes LE in a positive way to children. Where are we as a society?

I have been blessed to have two great children. Today my son Chase graduated the Alabama State Trooper Academy, I am extremely proud of the young man he has become. I was proud to pin his badge today and represent the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission.

I want to express my appreciation to everyone for your concern and prayers. It was reassuring knowing that your thoughts were with me through this ordeal. I am resting comfortably but will be down for a while.I do not have my phone and will be unable to correspond.
I try to never comment on these cases until the investigation is complete, but this is so disturbing it makes me sick to my stomach. First, it doesnโt matter what the man did, once the handcuffs were on its over, period! Police officers are professionals, THIS IS NOT!
Police are human just like you, they have families just like you, they are not perfect just like you! Support those who risk their lives to protect you and your families daily. Violence toward law enforcement must stop!
#EnoughisEnough
We are heart broken at the loss of another Alabama law enforcement officer. Bibb County Deputy Sheriff Brad Johnson was fatally shot in the line of duty.
Our prayers are with his family and colleagues. This is the 8th fallen Alabama officer this year.
Where are the protesters for these precious innocent children who were killed this weekend? Who is speaking for them? Law enforcement is! They will be bringing the killers to justice for the families.

There must be consequences for murdering a LE officer, just as there are for murdering a citizen. He was convicted by a jury of his peers. If you donโt want a death sentence, donโt conspire to shoot officers. Those officers families deserve justice. He made the choice!
Today the Executive Board of the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police presented Coach Nick Saban with his 2017 Chiefs Association National Championship Badge in Tuscaloosa.
Today, June 2nd marks my 30th year as a police officer. Time truly flies! I have had the pleasure to know some of the finest people to ever carry a badge and gun. I thank God every day for allowing me to serve.
Some in our country refuse to stop pushing the false narrative that LE is the problem in America. The problem is the lack of respect for the law and the entitled mind-set of some in society. Officers risk their life every day protecting communities. Support law enforcement.
Our prayers are with the
@BhamPolice
Birmingham Police Department as they have had an Officer shot this morning. This violence against law enforcement has to stop now!
How many people in society would take a bullet for a complete stranger? Police officers do it every day across America, not for the money, but because they care about the community they serve.

This weeks upcoming special session of the Alabama legislature, itโs extremely important that we support our law enforcement officers with legislation that doesnโt impair the ability to keep our communities and officers safe. Legislators should make the job easier not harder.
Yet another Alabama Police Officer is killed by gunfire in the line of duty. When are we going to say enough is enough? When are we going to stop with the rhetoric that LE is the problem? This Officer was killed protecting your community and families.
Iโm voting
@KatieBrittforAL
next Tuesday. Born and raised in Alabama and understands Alabamians. Unlike the attack ads running on TV, Katie supports law enforcement, and law and order. Thatโs why Iโm proud to support her as our next U.S. Senator.
We have had yet another officer killed in the line of duty in Alabama. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kimberly Police Department and the family of the Officer. I am sick to my stomach over the violence perpetrated at law enforcement in this state over the past year.
