Thing is, doctors tell pregnant women wrong stuff ALL THE TIME. Baby has down syndrome, baby is too big, baby is too small, you don't have enough amniotic fluid, baby has this huge birth defect... Wrong, wrong, wrong. I've heard stories like this again and again.

My husband tried to buy some maternity clothes for me- basically impossible as stores no longer have maternity sections. He was particularly fed up with Target, which advertises acceptance and clothes for all kinds of women: except the kind who do the most womanly thing of all.

I can't keep it to myself any longer. This is molasses cookie dough with pumpkin pie filling on top. It's way, WAY better than plain pumpkin pie. I used my mom's cookie recipe (with butter, NOT shortening!) in a 9x13, and baked it all at 350° until the pie filling was set.

Because they don't really KNOW, not 100%. They make educated guesses on a lot of stuff, and right now our technology isn't good enough for those guesses to be very accurate. A good doctor knows this, and won't try to play God.

I can't trust a doctor who will give a diagnosis like this and then tell me I should abort for my health or as some kind of "good deed" to make my baby suffer less. Because how can he claim certainty? He can't! A good doctor KNOWS THIS.

He knows and I know that: 1- he could be wrong 2- I don't get to decide when my children die 3- God may do a miracle And sometimes God doesn't do a miracle, and the diagnosis is correct, and we have to fall back on the comfort of knowing that it's up to God and not to us.
