HITTERS: watch how disciplined these @MLB guys are in the box on pitches that are either: 1) mere inches out of the zone, or 2) simply not pitches they can drive. Hitting is far more about what you’re swinging at than it is how mechanically perfect your swing is. #PostSeason

@spinnershells @BuckeyeCruise We had to cancel at the last minute. Found out my wife’s cancer has spread to 4 places in her liver. Oncologist said no chance of traveling due to new chemo and radiation. Good Lord willing, we’ll both be back on the cruise in February

More proof that velo is the most overrated “skill” in a pitcher’s repertoire. I’ve said it 1000x already...scouts want velo, your coach and teammates want outs. Command and off speed are what get outs. Those r things every pitcher can attain. Outs win games, not a pitcher’s velo

Last night’s foul ball brings back some painful memories for me. In Single A back in 2004 playing against the Yankees, I hit a line drive foul ball just above the dugout. You could hear the fan’s bones in his face break. He ended up losing his eye but thankfully not his life. (1)

@butchbaccala So what? 20+ years ago every pitcher threw this many every game and there were very few injuries. Nowadays, probably 50% of pitchers end up getting TJ despite all these “safety rules”. Pitch count doesn’t matter. Recovery time is what’s important

But the schools and players that wanna play should have that option. If you feel it’s unsafe, that’s fine don’t play. But don’t bring others down because of your fear

@TroyPSilva @trofarms Troy, I understand what you’re saying, but those stats are what get you college scholarships and eventually paid to play if you’re lucky enough. I went to school for free and got paid to play for 9 years because of those stats. And I played on plenty of winning teams

@JaycrawfordCLE If unprovoked, it’s a guarantee season ending suspension. In no way am I condoning what he did, but Rudolph did try tearing his off first and then kicked him in the nuts. That’s what drove Garrett over the edge. Still no excuse to react that way, but I think 4 games is sufficient

@D_Kovy12 Unfortunately it’s because a lot of coaches are looking at what’s best for them and not the players. That comment will upset some coaches but it’s true. Why get into coaching if it’s not to help the kids??

Wow! It’s amazing what happens when you throw the ball in the middle of the field. It’s been there all game. Just like last week. But instead we try to “establish the run”. Most overrated concept in football. If they can’t stop the pass, keep throwing the damn thing
