Today is the 81st anniversary of Kristallnacht. My maternal grandfather was one of the 30,000 Jewish men rounded up after #Kristallnacht - & sent to Sachsenhausen concentration camp 2 days before his 23rd birthday. His father died in Theresienstadt & his mother in Auschwitz.

My sister-in-law is very ill. Her children (my niece & nephew) who are in their 20s, are the most extraordinary, caring humans - they epitomize love & kindness. They lost their dad (my brother) in their teens. If you have a faith of any kind, do pray for them all.

This is Willy Lazar Auerbach, my dad's cousin. Willy was born on the 30/08/1919 in Germany. He was arrested in the Netherlands by the Nazis for being a Jew. He was sent to Mauthausen Concentration Camp. He was only 21 years old when he was murdered. Today we remember him #HMD2022

Earlier today Orthodox Jews were harassed in front of this Shul on 16th Avenue by a group of males yelling “Free Palestine - kill all the Jews”. We are hearing of multiple similar incidents that occurred over Shabbos. These perpetrators must be brought to justice.

Child protection enquiries in England more than doubled (125% rise) between 2009/10 & 2019/20. Do we really think abuse rose 125% in 10 yrs? Or are we too often now seeing families entirely through a lens of risk, blame & CP when what some just need is effective support?
