5/What finally worked, after a year of epic battles with this school, was being able to demonstrate that they were failing to understand the law. Institutions like the @EHRC , @ICOnews and to some extent the @NHS are finally starting to clarify certain policies.

Yes. School taught our trans-identified child that we would hate her and want her dead, and another child that our lack of affirmation should be criminalised. They also changed names & pronouns without our consent, and kept thoughts of self-harm secret.

I’ve become aware of a girl’s school, in which a ‘Gender Alliance’ has been set up. Every week, Year 13 students (including those identifying as trans boys) run “LGBTQIA+ presentations” for pupils as young as 11 years old. The school encourage this. This has gone too far.

@carolinefff Ugh, my daughter accused me of being a "white woman" responsible for I can't remember what. Made me wonder if this is an additional reason for wanting to be a boy.

When institutions won't listen to whistleblowers, in this case a mother who was trying to understand why a school repeatedly failed to safeguard her daughter, there's no choice left but to go public. Schools don't understand how angry we parents now are.

Today's debate on legal recognition of nonbinary people's gender was a pretty grim indictment of the state of Westminster politics. Mired in transphobia, totally off topic much of the time. NB citizens deserve a hell of lot better than that. We all do frankly. 1/2

@RoisinMichaux It is severe stress and anxiety that goes on for years & years & years. Friends + family play devil's advocate instead of offering support. Schools make social services referrals. Your child is taught that you are dangerous, abusive and committing hate crimes. Pure hell.
