SHE'D MAKE A COMEBACK TO THE TILLIES AFTER SIX YEARS AWAY AND SCORE A GOAL IN HER FIRST MINUTES BACK IN AN OLYMPIC QUALIFIER THAT'S WHAT MICHELLE HEYMAN WOULD DO
the people running women's community sports are not worried about trans women, they're worried about who is going to cover the bar shift today, why hasn't that person registered yet, where did that specific piece of equipment go etc and so on
being sentimental for a minute but kind of nice to experience tillies world cup penalties with 49,000 other people and not just my best mates and jenny who i befriended at the hostel and said it was a "really good match for neutrals"
i think the leading story for the world cup should be that i am going into it with a girlfriend who doesn't like soccer but watches it cus i like it. no one is writing about this.
hey girlies, we've submitted nominations for

i don't know if i articulate this well but the aflw memo makes me feel like the afl view the league as a product they want to market and sell to as many people as possible as soon as possible, instead of an actual competition composed of athletes and professionals.
this is my expression when loved ones say they're not boozing because they have responsibilities tomorrow. this is tournament football! grow up and go to work hungover!!
me: the wiggles as pre-game tillies entertainment fits within ongoing strategies to market women's football to families. this can potentially exclude other fan groups and undermine players' legitimacy as competitive pro athletes.
also me: SQUEEEEEE GONNA SEE THE WIGGLES LIVE 🤗
lots of people siding with novak without knowing what the spectator said to rile him up. i would like to hear both sides before siding with the spectator.
i get this weird anxiety when matildas make mainstream news now. even when it's about something positive you know there are folks out there using it as an opportunity to outwardly hate women. i don't want to engage with or read that shit anymore.
the commentator just said that Sinner has taken "everyone by surprise". as someone who doesn't know much about tennis, it's not that surprising that the player who hasn't lost a set all tournament is leading against a player who was bullied by teenagers
cw sexual assault: in case you missed it, comedian tom ballard has been accused of sexual assault, i stand with the survivor, support survivors of sexual assault to the best of your ability.
happy coming out day!!! as a Tiny Bisexual Moron in a long-term relationship with A Man, coming out is a confusing and constant process. I'm still not 100% where I want to be but I'm so happy that I have found supportive and kind people who make not quite being there okay🌈

feeling like a boomer but.. why are falls ppl directing anger at a decision that prioritises their safety? i get that it's disappointing when stuff doesn't work out but a lil perspective couldn't hurt.
being a fan

has shown how women's football can be special. affordable tickets, accessible venues, friendly and welcoming atmospheres have all been massive talking points. as the game continues to grow it is essential stakeholders listen and respond to these convos.
The other day i walked through a park with some kids playing cricket and one asked his mates "did you watch the women's cricket?" and another was like "yeah!" and something as simple as that is so nice to hear like yeah you did!
a coworker went out of his way to ask if i have disney+ bc there's a docoseries about the matildas on there i might like.... yeah i might be familiar with that one
niche complaint: shits me when leftie friends deride sports fans as stupid and lacking critical engagement but post about things like the aflw as if there is no crossover in audience.
Not to bring the negative nancy energy but if folks start referring to the A-League Men as the A-League and still gender mark A-League Women, I will not be best pleased. Gotta mark out both for this to work and it's on all of us to not let this go to waste.
