Do I really have to make a webcomic? Is it not enough to vividly imagine scenes for my OC’s before my sleeping pills kick in every night and tell no one
I’m gonna start the
#NobodyArtistClub
where you think you have pretty cool content, but you’re perpetually stuck under that 10k milestone for one reason or another. RT with your some of your favorite recent pieces.
Y’all, I’m tired. Who ever knows when something is gonna go viral? After all the critiques and nitpicking, like... you’re preaching to the choir, I promise you. All I wanted to do was find some smaller accounts who needed some boosts, and it turned into... this.
Not gonna qrt the bad take I saw, but I was 21 when I was making “3rd grade level” art. I’m 31 now, which is comparatively older than a lot of my art peers but like. Fuck it. Start whenever. Art is for ANYONE who wants to make art.
If an LGBT creator says their comic is LGBT, I promise you, it’s not the main aspect of the story, and it’s definitely not for brownie points. We’re just trying to attract readers we KNOW the story will resonate with the most.
Y’all get weird about that sometimes.
My BIGGEST art tip that has helped me curb severe burnout to this day is: When you’re at your wits end, make time to draw something for YOU. Something super self indulgent. Keep art fun for YOURSELF.
Alright webcomic artists:
What’s the thing you’ve learned that has saved you the MOST time in creating comics?
I’ll go first: CSP bucket tool magic for flats.
Webcomic creators are telling the stories that mainstream comics are too chicken to even blink at, so. If you’re feeling threatened by them, maybe start taking notes. Traditional comics are still fantastic? I have my own I collect, but like… roll with the punches.
All artists are 👍🏻 but this one especially goes out to my fellow creators who deal with chronic pain/fatigue/illness: I know it feels like everyone else is always three steps ahead, but you’re still doing a LOT, despite the bad days. Be kinder to yourself.
“It could’ve been worded differently”
“It’s too self deprecating”
“That’s such a bad milestone”
“You’re equating numbers to success”
Twitter is gonna pick the most dumbass thing of yours to tweet and make it go viral, and then you will know lmao
Look, I’m just a guy with a kid who’s only income is through self promotion, I wasn’t trying to cause any of (waves hands) THIS. Have your debates. These things need to be discussed, yes. But let smaller accounts using the tags have this.
Being an artist can be so infuriating.
People want you to believe your skills aren’t worth any amount of money you’d charge, then turn around and do EVERYTHING they can to steal it from you.
Fuck being coveted. Just respect and support the work of creatives.
But anyway, if you come across an artist and you like their work so much your immediate thought is, “Why don’t they have more followers/support?” Please, PLEASE share that artists work! Our livelihoods depend on word of mouth! 😅
In case you missed it, patreon dropped the ball this week and a TON of people lost their subscriptions to their fav creators accounts. Check your payment settings just in case! A lot of patrons are feeling the loss this month.
Decided to hurt my brain by doing the
@webtoon
style challenge for warmups and I’m not wild enough to do more than two right now sO. Enjoy.

Show me the very first drawing of your main character vs the most recent drawing of them! How has your art changed through your time drawing their story??
