The Connecticut National Guard is aware of a video circulating around social media showing a UH-60 Blackhawk's rotor wash disrupting a distribution site in North Carolina. We are working with the appropriate authorities to investigate the situation.
UPDATE: The initial investigation indicates the helicopter in the video belongs to the North Carolina National Guard. The pilots have been grounded until a further investigation can be completed.

Today, more than 100 Connecticut Guardsmen departed for Washington, D.C. where they will assist security efforts for the 59th Presidential Inauguration in support of local and federal law enforcement agencies.

The warehouse is a busy place, receiving test kits, delivering them to towns, and picking orders for pickups. They worked late into the New Years night making these deliveries happen and are continuing today. Before test kits, they distributed over 1.5M N95 masks over two days.

Today we began work with healthcare system partners at the new FEMA Mobile Vaccine Unit to increase access in harder-to-reach communities over the next two months. It began its journey in Bridgeport and will continue to locations there before moving to cities across CT
Today, the Connecticut Army National Guard responded to Berlin, CT in the vicinity of Lamentation Mountain to help suppress actively burning brush fires. One UH-60 Blackhawk, one CH-47 Chinook, and 14 aircrew members dumped thousands of gallons of water onto the fires.
With the pandemic still in full swing, we aren't able to come together this year to celebrate our heroes as we once did. However, this shouldn't stop us from recognizing their sacrifice and thank them for their service. To all veterans past and present: Happy

Last night, we welcomed home HHC 192nd MPs who had been deployed in support of global operations since January.
Families remained in their cars until their Soldier found them and each family was able to reconnect while maintaining proper social distance from other families.

On March 31, 1975, CW3 Diane Dowd became the first female Army National Guard aviator and was assigned to the 143rd Aviation Company out of Brainard Field in Hartford. Dowd would also later become the first woman helicopter instrument instructor in the Army.

IN MEMORIUM – 17 years ago, on Apr. 9, 2004, Connecticut National Guard Sgt. Felix DelGreco was killed when an IED and small-arms fire struck his patrol in Baghdad, Iraq. DelGreco, a Simsbury native, was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
