The 101 will NOT be closed at 9:00 AM Thursday morning. If the 101 needs to be closed it would only occur after a Mandatory Evacuation Order is in place and everyone has had the opportunity to evacuate. A closure would occur just prior to the arrival of intense rain fall.

We are currently working a multi-vehicle collision on US-101 N/B @ San Ysidro. A big rig overturned and is blocking the San Ysidro off ramp and North Jameson. Another collision happened in center divider. The #2 lane is still open, but we may need to close it for tow recoveries.

There is lot's of traffic on US 101 and side streets around the Montecito area. People getting off the freeway to avoid US 101 traffic are not saving time. Please leave early giving yourself plenty time to get to your desired destination.
