It's official! Pangolins are natural hosts of SARS-CoV-2 like CoVs which causes

impact the conservation of these scaly mammals? I've highlighted this and other issues in this piece in

Pleased to share my 2nd PhD paper. In the 1st known application of Q method to illegal wildlife trade (IWT) issues, we show that
#pangolins
are primarily harvested for food (not scales) in SE Nigeria, underpinning the need to improve food security & livelihoods in the region. 1/n

Looking for 1-2 early-career conservationists interested in mammal conservation (interest in pangolin would be fantastic) to be a part of a small team of researchers studying pangolins (ecology, demand, offtake and perception) in Nigeria. You do not have to be Nigerian. Thanks.
Exciting news! I first used SMART during anti-poaching patrols and wildlife monitoring organised by

Excited to share photos of, and talk about Abacus on radio to approx 3 million listeners. Abacus is the 1st white-bellied pangolin tagged on my project. Data from him 'll help estimate their home range. Next week, I 'll work w hunters to reduce poaching/trade
