One thing I've noticed from content creation is that the average Magic player builds their decks to try to beat everything and not to maximize their win percentage. I wish I would've learned this earlier in my card-slinging career. You don't need "outs" to everything.

I've been asked this a bunch. A key to Magic is understanding what a match-up is about and how games play out. 1. I'm on the draw against a deck with 4 Thoughtseize 2. The games are about a turn 2 Collector Ouphe (often from GSZ). Seize disrupts that. 1/3

Playing cEDH, it's pretty clear that a majority of the players don't understand how priority works. MTGO fixes that and also doesn't allow for: "I'll pass priority" "I'll pass priority" "I'll pass priority" "WAIT NO ONE HAD ANYTHING? I'll counter."

IMO, Gifts Ungiven should be unbanned. Intuition is incredibly similar due to Savinne's Rec. But what gets me is the "splashable" aspect of this description. This is #EDH , you aren't 'splashing' colors! This isn't limited. Even if you could, it's definitely not for Gifts.

It doesn't get talked about enough but Delver of Secrets is an atrocity. The most aggressive creature printed in Magic should've never of been a blue card. It has the Griselbrand problem where the next best thing isn't even close. Why would you ever play Wild Nacatl?

Storm combo in #MTGModern is just so bad and the core of the issue is that cards like Pyretic Ritual and Strike it Rich aren't powerful enough against cards like Endurance or Force of Negation. I'd love to see either Seething Song or Rite of Flame unbanned to help the archetype.

The state of Legacy. Yesterday's challenge didn't fire and today's was exactly 64 (minimum amount). Are we supposed to keep pretending that the Delver shell doesn't need to be hit? People are losing interest in this format. It's dominated both Showcase challenges since MH2.

Random Thought: It's weird how cards like Windfall, Yawgmoth's Bargain, and a lot of formerly powerful cards on are on the Legacy banned list. Yet, better cards just exist now and printed recently at common (Galvanic Relay). Should WOTC revisit unbans more often?

There are way too many self-important people in the Magic twitter space concerned with if they did or didn't get selected for: preview cards, ambassador, creator passes, secret lairs, etc. Just focus on making your content better — that's actually something people care about.

5-0🏆 with Gruul Breach! Aria of Flame came up big against Shadow + Rakdos and drastically improved those MUs. I also believe people undervalue Empty the Warrens in this build with Strike It Rich.

How does @cws_MTG not get the preview for Past in Flames? It's a card that's defined his Magic career and he's a great member of the community. This is a huge miss to me. @wizards_magic could really do more research and do a better job supporting content-creators.

Won the Pioneer Challenge! Went 9-1 only losing to burn, defeating a lot of blue decks. Shoutouts to @HussarMtg for working on the list with me over the last few weeks. We cut the cute cards in other lists for more efficient cards. Baral supercharged this deck. It's nuts.

3. After the Ouphe subgame, it becomes about Endurance/Force of Vigor. A second Thoughtseize would then be great. Considering these factors, all I need is time and Elves/Cradle Control is not a super-fast deck. I am 32% turn after turn to draw an action spell, by turn 3... 2/3

I'm going to sound like a broken record right now to my cEDH friends. 99% of cEDH video content is "top-down" gameplay with no decision-making/explanation. It's just actions happening. As a result, many cEDH players aren't actually learning much — it's pure entertainment.

I would love it if the webcam scene swapped to @MagicOnline . From a content perspective, it's difficult to learn from spelltable games due to hidden information of players' hands. With play-by-play narration in #commander gameplay, you would see an increase in player quality.

The biggest disconnect in #cEDH Twitter is what the format is. People cling to casual concepts such as their deck is an extension of their personality. The goal is to be as competitive as possible & to win games. There’s nothing wrong with admitting you want to play high power.
