The Ohio Secretary of State has finally provided precinct results for the May primary. Here's a map of the gubernatorial primary, where Mike DeWine was held below a majority.
Another important factor of Democrats doing as well as they did in 2022 is that there is now basically zero chance Republicans get 60 Senate seats in 2024, even in a red wave.
Pretty much 100% of the quote tweets on this are saying that this horrible. A war crime. Not justifiable.
Buddy these people are indiscriminately attacking ships in the largest shipping lane on the planet. It would be insanity do nothing.
Let's see...
2008: 1/50 states wrong
2012: 100% correct, 0/50 states wrong
2016: Gave Trump the best odds of any mainstream modeler. Still had the grace to eat humble pie.
2018: 1 Seat off in House model, 0.6% off in popular vote
2020: 2/50 states wrong
The fundamental problem for Republicans in Minnesota: Joe Biden netted more votes in one county (Hennepin) than Donald Trump netted in all the 74 counties he won.
She is correct fwiw. Per the latest statistics there are ~26% more violent crimes per capita in Oklahoma compared to New York. ~3% more than California.
Finally, a Democrat calls out a Republican on the truth about crime rates -- violent crime rates are higher in Oklahoma than New York and Californa. This will be fact checked.

Ohio in person early voting is a joke. Each county is only allowed 1 early vote location. Franklin County, population of greater than 1.3m, has the same number of early voting locations as Vinton County, whose population is a bit shy of 13k.
The craziest part of the 2020 campaign is still how the Biden campaign went from being on life support to an unstoppable juggernaut in less than a week.
The story across Kansas right now is all the same. All we have is early vote, which is quite biased in the liberal direction, but "NO" is exceeding its benchmarks by 20-30+ points everywhere. We need to see some Eday for a final determination.
A tale of 2 European leaders:
PM Viktor Orbán: 5 children with the same woman he married 37 years ago.
Angela Merkel: No children, first marriage ends in bitter divorce.
Orbán kept Hungary intact by promoting fertility and blocking immigration.
Merkel destroyed Germany and
One big criticism of the Obama Democratic party is that it went limp during non presidential elections. After 2014 the Democratic party was at its worst spot since the 1920s in terms of legislative control. As of 2023 Ds have the most trifeftas since 2009.
🚨🚨🚨NEWS >> At President Biden’s direction, the DNC is investing $1.5 MILLION into 2023 Virginia legislative races.
It’s not just about electing Democrats to the federal level, it’s about electing Dems up and down the ticket.
Not expanding medicaid is pretty much just a meme and a virtue signal that you're conservative. The federal government pays 90% of the costs. It's practically free for states to insure their sick and disabled but a surprising number just chose not to.
Tbh the knives coming out for McConnell doesn't make a ton of sense. In reality they should probably take out Scott lol.
Also what is this about Rubio and Johnson? Lmao.
The collapse of the Colorado Republican party from 2004 to present is imo kind of similar in scale and scope to the collapse of the Arkansas Democratic party from 1996 to 2014.
Chase county Kansas (Fully Reported):
Biden: 345 votes (23.1% of the vote)
No: 527 votes (48.2% of the vote)
This county cast 1491 votes for president in 2020. 1093 tonight. 73% of presidential turnout. Insane.
Tuberville out with a furious statement on Biden's space command decision: "This is absolutely not over. I will continue to fight this as long as it takes to bring Space Command where it would be best served—Huntsville, Alabama."
Well folks the Texas governor race is over. KXAN Texas had a focus group that was Abbott 40% - Beto 27% - Undecided 33%. After the debate it was Abbot 43% - Beto 50% - Undecided 7%.
Pennsylvania Republican Doug Mastriano said he is “praying” about whether to go forward with a potential Senate run in 2024. After God, his wife, Rebbie, will have the final word, he said.
This precinct in Columbus is pretty much just all of the sorority and frat houses of OSU.
2008: Obama +30
2012: ***Obama+11***
2016 Senate: ***Strickland + 4***
2016: Clinton+38
2018: Brown+61
2020: Biden+64
2022 Senate: Ryan+72
I would lump the 6 conservative justices in 3 buckets.
Bucket 1 - Altio and Thomas: Partisans who change their judicial philosophy to meet the desires of the conservative movement of the time. In favor of expansive executive powers during Bush... not so much with a Democrat.
Politics of vouchers pretty interesting:
1) Unpopular with resist libs
- Most Rank and File Ds hate it
2) Surprisingly popular/break even in inner cities
3) 100% popularity with establishment type Rs
4) Pretty underwater with rural voters
-literally a toxic issue in KY for Rs
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and the Texas House are at an impasse over school vouchers. A coalition of Democrats and rural Republicans continue to oppose allowing families to use taxpayer money to send children to private schools. ”
@texastribune
I do think there is a strong case that this year gubernatorial candidates DID have coattails.
- DeSantis
- Zeldin (even in loss)
- Shapiro
- Polis
- Whitmer
The TLDR of the British local elections:
- Labour gaining probably slightly more than expected.
- Conservatives having an even worse night than the horrid night most expected
- Liberal Democrats doing obscenely well - shredding cons in their heartlands.

I'm sorry. It's nice if the government can help, but there should be no expectation that the government will help you if you decide to put yourself in a small metal box 13 thousand feet underwater. All help is gravy at that point.
My PROPRIETARY house model. I assume the 2020 presidential to Alaska special swing is replicated in every district.
I am 100% confident these will be the exact results. This is a very normal not unhinged post.
This NYT map (credit

) is so interesting. Ossoff tanked in the placed where Clinton and Biden excelled (wealthy white areas), but just powered through with insane base mobilization.
College admission season update - From a friend:
“Niece got 1450 SAT, 4.2 GPA, competitive athlete. She didn’t even get into her safety schools. Going to junior college this year and is very depressed. The POC kids in her class, C students at best, are all headed to Berkeley,
Official 2022 results have dropped in Ohio. J.D. Vance defeated Tim Ryan by 6.1% in the U.S. Senate race. Here is a precinct map of the state I have put together.
Labour losing Uxbridge and winning Selby would be the equivalent of Democrats losing a special Senate election in North Carolina, but winning in Idaho.
I think Warnock may have had the best ever performance in DeKalb county for a Democrat in a contested election where there actually was a Republican candidate.
If the Supreme court destroys the VRA and allows only legislatures to redistrict before the 2030 census we will truly nuclear maps from sides. Like 53D-0R California maps sort of shit. No Democratic seats in LA/AL/MS/SC...
But Hobbs only won Latino voters by four points (51-47%), a huge dropoff from Sinema's 40-point margin of victory with Hispanics in 2018.
(The AP/NORC exit poll doesn't show quite the dramatic dropoff, but it's still substantial -- Dem margin down 23 pts with Hispanics)
