So I can finally share some news that I have been working on for awhile! I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my education this fall at The University of Albany within their College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity!
I knew these students personally and saw them daily. I dont have a lot of words right now, but I will say this. They were active members of my OWL shift and some of the kindest people I knew. They not only wanted to learn from others, but also help others learn themselves
Organizations who reflect those that they represent have a higher community trust then those who don’t. So Happy Pride and may the haters learn to love instead.
Let us Reflect, Empower and Unite together this

U.S. Rep. Colin Allred and the Texas Democratic Party are launching a coordinated campaign to consolidate resources for races up and down the ticket, the party and Allred campaign announced Wednesday morning.
My first official in person poster presentation. Thank you to everyone who showed up and said hi and if anyone wants to chat more about the west pacific this week please find me!

One thing I wish I did was take photos of my first pride. 18 year old twink me burning to death in the glorious 110 degree heat in Phoenix Arizona in April.
Found this photos of my owl shift featuring both Gavin and Drake. Figured yall would like to see them in their happy space as forecasters for

Aloha friends! My flight has taken me to Honolulu Hawaii! Seems a good a time as any to reveal the final destination being
@NWSGuam
! Round two of my Guam adventure begins in another nine hours of flying haha!🇬🇺
A year later and the pain is still there. Not a day goes by that I don't pause and think of Drake, Gavin, and Nic. Drake was suppose to be my roommate the following year, we were planning parties, game nights, and so much more. Gavin and Nic were going to live nearby and together
Happy Pride Month from OWL! This month, and always, we celebrate and are grateful for the members of the LGBTQIA+ community in our organization and in the atmospheric sciences as a whole! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

Tonight from 5:30-7:30pm and tomorrow from 6:30-8:30pm!
Well, it's time to go home. After two months of learning all about tropical and marine meteorology as well as seeing what real world IDSS work looks like I can say that this has been the most rewarding and thrilling experience. Seeing an office at work during heavy weather 1/2
On another note. I finished junior year with only As and Bs which is something I have never done in my college career (let alone in the hardest semesters of college) so thanks to all who supported and helped me out. (Special shout out to Gavin for Pmath. Miss you homie).
On this very sad day in the Norman weather community, our evening weather balloon launch is dedicated to Nic, Drake and Gavin - OU meteorology students who died in a tragic traffic accident last night.
First talk as a Graduate students done and dusted! It was a lot of fun and I am forever grateful for the amazing opportunity! Thank you to everyone who attended and took photos!
So I don't normally check honor roll stuff or anything like that cause im never on it (normally a B average student which is fine) but I managed to make the honor roll this past semester for the first time in college. Thats second semester of junior year of meteorology. Wow.
Part two of my trip to Guam. Made it to my gate in Houston for my flight to Hawaii. Nine hour flight there before a quick layover (48mins) and then onward to Guam!
I may have a few more weeks in Guam, but my office still took me out for a farewell dinner and I got an award for the hard work I've done these past two years. I truly live working at this office and I value all their support and kindnes!
@NWSGuam
Don’t walk up to me in the halls of my university after a tornado hit my apartment last night and try to talk to me about religion. I have a quiz to study for and I don’t have time for this.
As an undergraduate student comments like this from professors are a major deterrent for seeking out a higher education. These comments also seek to discourage collaborations between students and universities which after this week of AMS is such a vital item for our field.
Learned a lot about graduate students today from Howie! They “don’t like dynamics anymore” and “don’t like to be interrupted”. They “hate derivations” and are so “sensitive to speech” that he “can’t make puns anymore”. Ultimately, “students have changed. [He] hasn’t.”

Come see me again tonight at the table from 5:30 - 7:30pm to learn more about Emergency Management, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity on behalf of

Ahhhhh! Happy day! My team placed 2nd place in todays AI2EM competition where we answered the question of how AI can be used to better Emergency Management! Thank you
@UAlbanyCEHC
for this opportunity!
I truly don't know how I will walk into the lab next time but I do know that their knowledge, kindness, and generosity will continue within the space and I will continue to pass along to others what they imparted onto me.
and to the faculty who knew them too. I am sorry that yall are also having to go through this loss. We are all one community and I know its hard for yall as well. Be kind to yourselves during this horrible time.
2.75% raise in tuition and fees at OU is devastation to the working students and families who have struggle out of this pandemic. College should be made more affordable not less.
So this past week was my first

and I have to say 90% if it was an amazing experience. I have so much hope for the intersection of meteorology and communication and it’s future as well as a very health understanding of the importance of DEIJ efforts in our field.
My time in Guam is quickly coming to a close as I fly back stateside this Thursday and all I can say is I will miss Guam greatly and I will try my hardest to come back whenever I can. This experience has been a life changing one for sure. Looking forward to finishing this degree.
They cared deeply for the safety of their fellow students and from some of the AFDs I have tweeted out in the past few months I believe that to be clear. Its going to be a rough couple of weeks and months but I know OU SoM will get us through it.
As a former geography teacher and self-proclaimed GIS nerd, I’m thrilled to proclaim today as Geographic Information Systems Day.
Here in Minnesota, we are using GIS to make state government more effective - whether we’re replacing lead pipes or expanding homeownership.
Happy Pride Month all!!! We are dedicated to celebrating diversity in this organization and all our members in the LGBTQIA+ community. We are lucky to have members who uphold love and respect in our program and are great student leaders!
@mattlanza
Well from this communicator I think you did a great job! My extended family used your forecasts for planning and sent questions to me. You helped keep them at ease. I agree we gave a long way to go in terms of planning and mitigation so hopfully we start seeing new plans soon.
Thanks to everyone who came and chatting at the Coriolis event today! It was super exciting to put on a space to chat and network! Thank you to
@AMS_Soc_Impacts
@amsbraid
and everyone else for helping put on a successful event! Hope everyone in Myrtle Beach has a blast!
Handling their grief has been one of the hardest hurdles of my life. But I know that feeling this pain simply means that I loved them dearly and as a result I miss them dearly. Hold your friends close today and know that it's okay to not be okay.

I'd like to see an office in state college in order to maximize that college outreach effort. With the funds they have they should be able to open one there too.
I have diagnosed Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD not because of fear. But because of the environment and trauma I have experienced. This notion that this year hasn't been traumatic purely because you are "not living in fear" is bull. This response is disgusting.
After tonight's elections
@OKwxlab
's board will begin the transition to the next leadership team. I had a blast this year bringing unique speakers, raising funds, and teaching forecasting. OWL will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope I did my mentors proud this year!
If you don’t chase safely you shouldn’t chase. Inspiring folks online to conduct themselves in unsafe manners on the road will only result in more people getting hurt or worse.
Hello everyone! I am thrilled to announce that I am running to be y'alls next OWL President for the Oklahoma Weather Lab!! For those who may not know me, I am a junior meteorology student from Houston, Texas.
