1775 Yugoslavs fought for the Republic in the Spanish Civil war. 595 Yugoslavs died there, and those who fought in Spain led the People's Liberation Army during WW2, due to their experience in modern warfare. The song, "No Pasarán!" is dedicated to the Yugoslav Interbrigade.
