Caleb Williams is a case study for prospect fatigue.
We’ve heard things like:
- His teammates hate him
- He’s not even 6 feet tall
- He doesn’t want to come to Chicago
- He wants ownership
- Crybaby
- Nail painting
- Bad leader
- Can’t win
- Johnny manziel
And much much
This is one of those routes Bears fans would look at on the All-22 and say “he’s covered” for the last 3 years.
This is NFL open.
This is what throwing to NFL open looks like.
We finally have a quarterback.

THIS is what those who are out on Fields have been wanting to see.
Showing he can do it is one thing… now let’s do it consistently.
This is by far his best anticipatory throw of the season.
If we keep JF, this needs to happen more
Caleb Williams had 1099 pass attempts in his college career.
Justin fields didn’t hit 1099 pass attempts (college+NFL) until week 11 of his second NFL season against the Falcons.
I expect Caleb Williams to be a better passer than Fields is now on day 1 in camp.
Let’s address the “Caleb Williams and Justin Fields are essentially the same player” that people cling to when defending Fields.
Let’s look at their sack rates in college since we hear that Caleb Williams take so many sacks in college and it’s just as bad as Fields.
Here are
An important thing that’s being overlooked, and I need you to answer this question honestly…
Is Justin Fields better than Jared Goff?
Is he better than Kirk Cousins?
Is he better than Jordan Love?
To me? No, no, and no.
So what the fuck are we talking about?
“Look how good Justin Fields was throwing to his top 2 targets! Imagine if he just had a few more!”
No. That’s not how it works. Mooney and Tyler Scott are not the worst 3rd and 4th options in the NFL. In fact, most teams don’t have stellar 3rd and 4th guys.
Yet many passers
We just watched Mahomes bury-
- Tua + better roster
- Allen + better roster
- Lamar + better roster
- Purdy + better roster
All of those QBs are astronomically better than Fields…
But some believe if we give Justin a better roster, HE will be the one to beat Mahomes?
If
Here is a breakdown by the % of the cap taken up by each Superbowl winning QB over the last 30 Years:
(2022) Patrick Mahomes - 17.19%
(1994) Steve Young - 13.08%
(2020) Tom Brady - 12.61%
(2018) Tom Brady -
If we keep fields this is what I think we should put around him:
Qb: Justin Fields
RB: 2006 Ladanian Tomlinson
WR: 2007 Randy Moss
WR: 2012 Calvin Johnson
WR: 2021 Cooper Kupp
TE: 2020 Travis Kelce
LT: Anthony Munoz
LG: John Hannah
C: Jason Kelce
RG: Bruce Matthew’s

Bears fans need to remove themselves from the mindset of having “windows” to compete.
This roster isn’t being built to have a short competitive window. Poles is building this team to sustain success.
Poles comes from Kansas City, a place that has 10+ wins nine out of the last
Having the chance to pick a generational QB first overall is a dream moment for any franchise, but somehow, our fanbase is more upset than excited.
It’s like we’ve won two lotteries but are upset because we have to give back the $100 ticket to cash the million dollar one.
I’m more convinced than ever that Justin Fields is the QB of the future for The Chicago Bears.
I went back & watched every game he played this year & did the deepest of dives into his play on the field.
🆕Justin Fields Full Season Review Breakdown
🎥:
C.J. Stroud so far:
▪️The first rookie to ever lead the NFL in passing yards per game
▪️1 of 3 QBs ever to lead the NFL in passing yards per game and TD-to-INT ratio in the same season (joining Tom Brady and Joe Montana)
▪️Became the youngest starting QB ever to guide his team
Justin Fields struggled this year because:
“All Getsy does is run screens”
Screen rate by Qb in the NFL in 2023 (Per PFF min. 20% DB)-
Tyson Bagent - 16.4%
Will Levis - 15.4%
Tua Tagovialoa - 15.1%
Patrick Mahomes - 14.8%
Trevor Lawrence - 13.6%
Mac Jones - 13.5%
Bailey Zappe
Sorry to break it to you Fields army, but 1yd=1yd.
“Second fastest quarterback to pass for 5,000 and rush for 2,000”?
Well what about where other quarterbacks were at in terms of total yards through their first 36 career games:
Patrick Mahomes- 11,540
Justin Herbert- 11,140
Eye opening numbers about Super Bowl winning QBs:
6 of the 34 SB winning QBs were taken at first overall. That’s 17.65%.
On top of that,
Those 6 quarterbacks won 14 SB’s combined… that’s 14/57 or a whopping 24.56% of SB’s won by first overall QBs.
Draft Caleb.
FACT: It’s been all the years of football existence since a qb with 600 rushing yards in a season has led an NFL team to a Super Bowl win🤔
Thanks for tuning into this weeks episode of meaningless stats
Caleb Williams is NOT Mitchell Trubisky or Justin Fields.
It didn’t matter where they landed, Mitch or Justin would not have been franchise QBs because THEY JUST WERENT GOOD ENOUGH.
Stop blaming the coaches for players struggles.
Players should get credit when they succeed
The
@ChicagoBears
CAN’T REPEAT THE INSANITY of Trubisky and Fields. Draft QB, put Head Coach in win or else situation. Fire Head Coach the next year. Forces the staff to rush development for their own self preservation. Extend Eberflus and grow with QB.
📺
“How did Fields do against the Packers?”
“Why hasn’t Fields made the leap?”
“Why does Fields average less than 200 passing ypg?”
“Why is Fields average when you use total yards?”
Bears Fans:
What has Poles done?
He has a clear plan for the Bears moving forward, something I’ve never been able to say about any of our GMs.
-He is building the trenches.
-Drafted a stud RT and signed a solid RG
-Drafted 2 DTs that look promising
-Didn’t splurge on this FA lineman
Bears fans:
Don’t set Caleb up for failure by setting expectations too high! It’s too much pressure!
Caleb:
Expects 8 superbowls.
Time to flush this loser mentality out of Chicago. Toss the way you think about the Bears in the trash because big change is incoming.
I think
@ggabefootball
is living in an alternate universe. He said today on
@BarroomNetwork

“The problem I have is that he never recovered from [the Notre Dame Game]; he was never the same player, he never made the same plays. You watch him and you go: where’s the magic guy I
Something I want to point out to Bears fans…
The biggest difference between what makes a great Qb and a mid Qb is the ability to play at a high level consistently.
Fields did that 4-5 times in 37 games with the Bears. That’s not consistent. Never was.
What we just watched
“I’m tired of restarting at Qb over and over again”
This mindset blows my mind.
It’s surprising how many people would rather stick with mediocrity for comfort over shooting for greatness.
That’s the mindset that got us 1 Super Bowl since 1970.
Time to shake it up.
Caleb Williams playing in structure/in pocket highlight tape:
Since I’ve been hearing a lot of:
“Caleb can’t play in structure”
Here is 3 and a half minutes of Caleb playing in structure and in the pocket just from this year.
The reason he’s so highly regarded as a prospect
Here’s 3 minutes of Caleb Williams showing how incredible he is at maneuvering within the pocket and finding space outside the pocket to make throws.
If you can’t see the Mahomes comps when watching this film, I’m not really sure what to tell you.
He has supreme pocket
I NEVER post my politics on here but I’ll admit I’m fairly conservative, and even I think this take is ABSURD…
It’s not “woke snowflakes”… most people disagree.
It is totally okay to criticize Caleb Williams but at least provide substance.
You’re bitching over nail paining.
Woke snowflakes are upset because I said it’s okay to criticize Caleb Williams and his behavior.
I will not apologize. I will not surrender. I will not back down.
Never give an inch to the outrage mob.
Hey
@mlombardiNFL
,
I just want to say man I am SO upset right now that the Bears traded pick 40 for Montez Sweat!
Just so disappointing we won’t have a shot to draft Marshawn Kneeland or Chris Braswell!
Man they’d have been WAY better than Sweat!
Right?💀
I guess throwing a piss missile into the back of a defender who’s blanketing the wr that gets tipped and picked isn’t considered a turnover worthy play anymore?
For people who say “the Texans had a good roster this season”
I present to you the preseason power rankings for the Texans:
30th - NFL
31st - ESPN
31st - PFF
30th - Sports Illustrated
29th - USA Today
31st - The Athletic
31st - The Ringer
31st - Yahoo Sports
One man changed
Recency bias is something that can destroy a team. Something that haunts NFL fans. It ruins sports takes weekly.
I know Justin Fields has flashes, they’re awesome… he’s made some great throws, runs, and broke out of insane shoulda been sacks… but that doesn’t diminish the
🚨 BREAKING 🚨 I have it from a source as close to the situation as you could be at this point that Justin Fields is, in fact, staying in Chicago (barring something very unforeseen/ drastic). Still no official word on what
#Bears
do with 1:1 pick.
People like to say “the scouting community is wrong all the time and they don’t learn”
I beg to differ…
It’s YOU who isn’t learning.
The same supposed flaws that made
‘Mahomes the prospect’ fall to 11:
- Plays hero ball too much
- Doesn’t win big games
- Bad games against
Not even going to comment on this Waldron hire in the perspective of Fields vs. Williams because it’s irrelevant.
We’re taking Caleb Williams with the first pick in the draft and it’s not up for debate anymore to me.
There is no way Poles watched these QBs in the playoffs and
For years, Bears fans bitched about Ted Phillips’ involvement in football decisions because he’s not a football guy.
Enter Kevin Warren… who has no background in player personnel or team-building, and people WANT him to have an input on football decisions?
Make it make sense.
“The Cardinals wouldn’t be posting this unless it meant Josh would be back… trade back for a haul build the team around Rosen. He had first year head coaching, no weapons, and a bad o line. He just needs a better team.”
-Rosen army in 2019
I keep receiving the same question when I talk about drafting Caleb…
“What happens when he’s not good? You’re just gonna be hyping up the next guy in 4 years”
My response?
Yes. I will be hoping we can draft the next quarterback if Caleb sucks.
It’s Qb or bust.
Simple.
There are 2 Quarterbacks in this draft that many have touted as 2 of the best in the last 10 years.
If you “don’t see it” this year… you’re never going to see it.
If you aren’t impressed with THESE GUYS, I hate to break it to you, but you’ll never be impressed.
With the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft the Chicago Bears select…
@CALEBcsw
🐻
There’s one human being on the planet who can make all of these throws—
His name is Patrick Mahomes.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, don’t mess this up Chicago.
He’s a lock.🔒
Fields Army:
“Every other QB has more weapons”
“X users site stats and not game film”
“Can other QBs run like Justin?”
“Under Getsy the system sucked”
“See the Clemson throw??”
“Early season defensive woes didn’t help”
“Struggled because the O line was bad”
We're fed up.
This morning I got a comment on one of my posts from
@BTGiants
saying that Giants fans were the same way last year with Daniel Jones…
I thought- “no way could it be anything like our war going on”
So I did a little deep dive onto his account and searched “Daniel Jones” and
@jacobinfante24
This should not only be the first time the Bears fire a coach in season but they should make it the first time anyones fired a coach mid game.
Bears fans will tell you this is the guy that needs to be replaced on the O line.
I’m done with that shit. Dude played a nearly FLAWLESS game and has been great consistently when playing.
I don’t care WHAT round he was drafted in… this guy is a top tier LT of the future and
I don’t understand the joy in tearing down young QBs
It’s ok to be real with their weaknesses while also keeping context of their surroundings
The whole “bust” title is ignorant
Dudes have played football since 2nd grade… anyone who makes it to the NFL isn’t a bust
#Bears
I’m just imagining Bears fans seeing a real QB play for the first time. It’ll be like watching cavemen discover fire.
Suddenly, there’s light, warmth, and a new way to cook opponents that doesn’t look like we’re using the 1920 Decatur Staleys playbook.
QBs who have won the Super Bowl on their first contract since 2000:
Russel Wilson
Tom Brady
Patrick Mahomes
Ben Roethlisberger
Joe Flacco
Eli Manning
Kurt Warner
Qbs who went to the Super Bowl on their first contract since 2000:
Jalen Hurts
Joe Burrow
Jared Goff
Carson
If we draft Caleb Williams I expect him to win a superbowl with the Chicago Bears before his career ends.
Otherwise why the hell would I want to draft him?
You guys and your “setting expectations too high” arguments puzzle me.
Super Bowl is the expectation. No less.
Thought I’d take a little excerpt from Greg Gabriels scouting report on Caleb Williams before he decided to full 180:
“Caleb Williams may very well be a “generational” talent. He is the best quarterback prospect I have seen since probably Andrew Luck. His “game” reminds us of
Caleb Williams was 4-9 in college against top 25 teams.
His defense gave up an average of 37 points per game in those games.
Through 3 years in college, if his defense would’ve given up 30 points or less in games against top 25 opponents, Caleb’s record would’ve been:
9-4
