The minim wage is c€2k a month & you pay practically zero tax on that. Child allowance is c€600 for 2 kids, per month. I live in a 4 bed apt, 20 mins from the city & pay 1800 pm. More than affordable for 2 working adults with 2 kids.

As usual, Keith is incorrect. Before the 93 single Europe act the same customs procedures applied across all of eu. Also,as someone who crossed the border twice a week, I can tell him that the machine guns, ID checks, searches& body frisks made it the hardest of borders.

Those of us who have worked in international trade know there was never a hard Irish border. There was a customs check, occasionally with security. There was never passport checking or goods manifest checking so it was a regulated border NOT a hard border. Get your facts straight
