"Porn has existed before civilization, look at the CAVE DRAWINGS!"
Art isn't usually considered porn. Also, there's a difference between cave art, 1950s magazines/photos that you have to buy/store, & the ability to binge a dozen 4k bukkake gangbang videos online in < 10 minutes.
So many phrases are used to describe similar concepts:
- Porn Addiction
- Problem Porn Use
- Problematic Porn Use
- Porn Overuse
- Compulsive Sexual Behavior
- Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder
- Excessive Porn Use
- Out-of-control Porn Use
Which do you relate to/prefer/use?
• Inability to ejaculate wearing a condom?
Might be the porn
• Can't maintain erections without thinking about or watching porn?
Might be the porn
• Life in disarray, strugging to maintain any balance and motivation?
Might be the porn
Try to quit porn to see if it helps!
Orgasms are natural & beneficial. To successfully beat

long term, most people benefit from establishing a healthy sexual outlet.
Whether it is solo porn-free masturbation - or sex with a partner - build a sexual health lifestyle that's fulfilling, not destructive.
While
#NoNutNovember
is a meme, maybe some people seriously participating in it will discover that they legitimately have a problematic porn habit or even
#PornAddiction
.
If anyone is out there who wants to quit, help is available from a variety of websites - much of it for free
Porn addicts can be..
Men
Women
Doctors
Police officers
Businesspeople
Students
People under 18 or over 65
LGBT
Any religion or no religion
Any country, any background
Chances are, you know at least one person who is struggling with out-of-control porn use. Help is available.
.
@NoFap
,
@BrainRebalanced
, etc, are NOT anti-porn sites, similar to how Alcoholics Anonymous isn't an anti-alcohol organization.
We're porn-free in our own lives to recover from compulsive porn use. We certainly aren't interested in making that choice for others via legislation.
.
@NoFap
's stats:
- Most users are atheists/agnostic.
- 9% identify as "conservative."
- Many users are LGBT.
- Many users are women who were addicted to porn.
- Quitting porn often resulted in reversal of ED & greater respect for women
Stop stereotyping people quitting porn.
Pro-porn activists: "PORN ADDICTION DOESN'T EXIST!11!"
It does, but if it didn't, so what? Even if it isn't an addiction (it is), there are 100,000s experinecing negative side effects from uncontrollable internet porn consumpion. Why can't they make the personal choice to quit?
Interesting that pro-porn activists who want "open" access to porn everywhere are "closed" to opposing ideas that unlimited porn consumption might have negative side effects. Instead of engaging in a debate of ideas, some block accounts & continue to push fake science unrefuted.
Sex researchers:
Why not research the phenomenon of 100,000s of people who feel that overconsumption of porn led to negative effects?
instead of...
Discounting, slandering, insulting, misrepresenting their arguments, and trying to destroy those speaking publically about it?
People quit porn for a huge # of reasons. Stop saying that people quitting porn do so for "moral" or "religious" reasons because while that certainly fits a % of the porn skepticism / reboot movement, it doesn't fit the majoirity of it. We want to improve our lives/relationships.
Happy to see so many people talking about porn openly. This issue NEEDS to be discussed openly. Not talking about porn is what got us into this societal situation to begin with.
There's an online Christian event for women who want to
#QuitPorn
.
Obviously, some/many are there because they have a personal/moral/religious disagreement with using porn etc.
But the summit appears to have some non-religious talks that non-religious people might find helpful.
Dear journalists:
The scientists who you should be talking to about
#PornAddiction
-do not- have publicity teams representing them. Those people often have agendas.
Real scientists are hard at work conducting research at academic institutions and they're probably happy to talk!
"Honestly, what's the success rate amongst rebooters?"
1) We need more studies on long term recovery. Many who reboot quit using recovery forums.
2) Many return b/c of pornified culture.
3) Porn IS a challenging addiction to beat. But it's possible.
@NoFap
We hear all of the time that people "need porn." That's simply not true. Nobody "needs" porn. They condition their brains to want it really, really bad, but they CAN live without it.
Turning 32 next week. I'm also about to crack 200 days away from PMO. Time flies... This will be the first time in my life to have a girl by my side while having birthday. I'm a bit nervous yet positively excited. 2019 has been one of the best years of all my life so far. -Member
Just thinking about how awesome it is to have seen different folks:
1) Be in a very low point of life.
2) Discover that porn can be addictive and lead to issues.
3) Go through the tough reboot process and eventually quit porn entirely.
4) Go off and do AMAZING things in life.

Thanks to everyone who follows this small website 😀😁
Our founder created the website back in 2012 when very few websites existed to address
#PornAddiction
.
YBR has always been a side project - for addicts, run by addicts. And it's pretty cool that we still are online in 2020.
Every time a porn skeptic gets attacked by a disingenuous pro-porn person, they grow stronger 😊
- Better at debating
- Better at calling out fallacies and lies
- More fired up
So go ahead and keep on attacking us, you're just motivating us to debunk your nonsense even harder.
@MsOeming
@NoFap
Not accurate.
NoFap is a PORN ADDICTION recovery platform, not an "anti-masturbation platform."
Attached is a screenshot from the website's About page.
According to , only 10% of NoFap's users thinks that masturbation is unhealthy for everyone.

Internet porn shouldn't be in the daily life of 11-year-olds tho. Early porn exposure and unlimited access to it can easily lead to many years of addiction.
We need to raise awareness to help parents better protect their households.
2 Sundays from tonight, the premiere of
#ThisIsLife
, season 6. If your child has a phone or even has access to one, he/she will have access to porn. But the porn today is NOT the porn of yesterday. Wake up parents. Sunday, Sept 29 10PM EST/PST on

The guys at
@NoFap
are always talking about how important sleep is in porn addiction recovery. It's so true! Remember, there are 1000s of things that you can try to help you sleep before using porn. Just lookup "sleep hygiene" online to get some tips.
Most people who say that pornography is empowering for women probably match one of the following:
- Super biased
- Disingenuous
- Haven't been to an actual porn site for a while
Read the titles on any major porn-tube-style site and tell us how "empowering" it is for women.
Recovery from porn addiction is often given the verb "rebooting". That's because it's intended to be comparable to "rebooting a computer" back to default settings. In this case, you're giving your brain a reboot back to how it was before you were addicted to internet porn. 💻🧠
New Rule:
We've had issues in the past with trolls joining our forum just to insult recovery "personalities" and spread drama. This is now against our rules since this is certainly NOT beneficial to those in recovery. You don't barge into AA meetings to go on unrelated rants.
[Internet porn] addiction is here to stay. Unless we evolve to not obtain a dopamine high from sexual thoughts--which won't happen--HSIP addiction will be with humanity, forever. It is time we start teaching our kids about it, the way we teach about drugs.
There's a new Monash University student survey being conducted on problematic porn use. See the flyer attached to this tweet for more information. We aren't affiliated but getting the word out!

Disturbed by the escalation of attacks against people speaking up about the negative effects that they have personally experienced or observed from over consumption of internet porn. Disgusting. These people's voices are valid. Helping / Civil Discussion > Harrassment / Slander

Many people - non-religious and religious - quit porn for non-religious, non-moral reasons, but to improve sex, relationships, & cognition.
Interesting how most "porn addiction doesn't exist" arguments seem to follow the same formula (distract and deflect):
- MASTURBATION IS HEALTHY (uhhh we're talking about porn)
- THESE EVIL PEOPLE ARE ANTI-MASTURBATION (uhhh nothing to do with us)
- SMEARS AGAINST PORN SKEPTICS
I often have hope that there can be healthy, cordial, honest, and productive discussion between porn skeptics and pro-porn activists. But then, all of the time, a pro-porn propogandist misrepresents/lies/defames, crushing that dream. Hopefully someday we can have real discussion.
For being so "open-minded" and claiming that porn-skeptics are "prudish," pro-porn activists seem awfully intolerant of other people's personal sexual lifestyle decisions. Hypocritical.
Your Brain Rebalanced was created by an anonymous person who goes by the pseudonym "TheUnderdog".
Remaining anonymous makes sense for many porn addicts. Those who publicly share that they struggle with porn are unfortunately often subject to ridicule, sometimes even harassment.
Totally happens. But also remember that you unconscious activity doesn't mean that you relapsed. Wet dreams aren't relapses. CHOICES to return to compulsive porn use are relapses.
Hear that leaders in the porn skepticism movement are religious and conservative?

Thank you to our supporters for raising over 150,000 dollars to help us litigate against defamation & deplatforming attempts, orchestrated by entities who have close ties to the porn industry.

... or just one week. Many people these days can't even last a week!
Also, abstaining includes not fantasizing about porn while masturbating. You can masturbate to sensation, but don't think about porn while doing so and see how far and "hard" you actually get!
Porn = addictive
Instead of just leaving us alone to focus on recovery, the porn industry and certain allies have decided to launch a campaign of defamation and smears against us and our founder. We've generally tried to ignore their attacks, but they have been escalating.
Announcement tomorrow.
A fan of
@FightTheNewDrug
posted on our site that they posted "Porn Kills Love" signs all over Sofia, Bulgaria. They've been getting a lot of attention.
Big announcement today! I'm finally ready to release the biggest project of my life, two online video courses that will guide you through every aspect of recovery from all porn-related problems in your life.
@gabedeem
Having trouble figuring out what was offensive enough about these 3 tweets to be blocked. Shouldn't an academic be open to other people's ideas?
Thanks for the follows! We will work together to wake up the world that pornography isn't sex-positive, doesn't lead to sustainable happiness, is an escape behavior, harms relationships, is created by a shady industry, and isn't mandatory to consume. You CAN live life porn-free.
If you are quitting porn, certainly don't watch
#AmericanHorrorStory
during the earlier stages of recovery. Certain TV shows are getting super sexualized.
@SwFalcon94
@YourBrainOnPorn
Hmm? I frequently see him engaging in discussion with researchers on Twitter. We would love to see more debate! Usually I've seen "real sex researchers" personally attack him, defame him, strawman, or generally dance around substantive debate in favor of sophomoric nonsense.
@NoFap
Although there is already a ton of great research about compulsive porn use that fits within the addiction framework, more research is always better!
@YourBrainOnPorn
Yo, I disagree with what you are saying. So I'm just going to go ahead and trademark your name that you've been using for 10 years so that you can't say it anymore.

In what alternative universe, exactly, is quitting porn in any way misogynistic or connected to incels? That's insane.
It's like an episode of The Twilight Zone up in here.
Go look at any porn tube site and see how misogynistic porn is, often featuring themes of exploitation.
@pfelipens_
When have we done that? Pretty sure that we, or most other major porn skepticism figures/websites, never have shamed people for using porn.
@MsOeming
@NoFap
Equal access to verification based on merit of public profile is good (
@NoFap
is obviously pretty well known at this point) but are you suggesting that NoFap should have its verification removed? If so, why? That seems strangely punitive & unrelated to the purpose of verification

It's quite amazing, really. NoFap even has a section for women's journals, with 100s of journals listed:
The subreddit, upon searching the frontpage for 10 seconds, has this thread on it now, with other threads from women DAILY.
"Porn is now more affordable, accessible, and violent than ever before, and many boys are watching it as early as age 11 or 12."
