Today marks the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The Ukrainian people continue to fight and strive for their freedom. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦
The Bosnian War officially started on 6 April 1992. It lasted until 14 December 1995. The Bosnian War claimed almost 101,000 lives, most of them Bosniaks. Moreover, it marked Europe's first genocide post-World War II—committed by Serb forces. Never again!
A daily reminder that we live in a time when an active genocide is taking place in China and half the world is silent about it. Don’t forget the Uyghurs.
We remember the Bijeljina massacre. From 1-2 April 1992, Serb paramilitary groups murdered approximately 48-78 Bosniak civilians in the Bosnian town of Bijeljina. This crime was the prelude to the Bosnian Genocide. In the course of the Bos. War, Bijeljina was ethnically cleansed.
Emira Bašić was a Bosniak defender of Sarajevo. She was killed on November 27, 1993, in the defense of Sarajevo, near the Jewish cemetery. She received the Bosnian Army's highest award, the Golden Lily, for her heroic war efforts. 1/

9 May, today we remember all Bosniaks and Croats who survived, were murdered, or disappeared in Serbian Concentration Camps all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bosnian Serb Army (VRS) built concentration camps for men, and rape camps for women during the Bosnian War (1992-1995).
Today in August 1995, the Bosniak brigadier, Izet Nanić, attended his last Friday prayer service in a mosque in Bužim, Bosnia. On 5 August 1995, he got killed by Serbian enemy forces. We remember our hero.

Unpopular opinion: African and Asian Muslim extremists pose as much of a threat to us as any European political groups that do not regard us Bosniaks as equals.
The photojournalist Tom Stoddart has died. His photos documented parts of the Siege of Sarajevo, and the Bosnian War. He will be remembered as a friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens. RIP. One of his most famous photos.

The Republic of Kosovo 🇽🇰 showed again that it doesn’t fear Serbia 🇷🇸 or anyone else. It would be nice to see the same kind of courage from our Bosnian politicians. Let’s stay hopeful. 🙂✌🏻

Miley Cyrus triggered Serbian nationalists worldwide by saying, ‘Ja znam bosanski’ (‘I know Bosnian’), which is ridiculous. Our eastern neighbors are such psychopaths, lol.

The Times cover is not in reference to the ‘99 bombing of Serbia, but is from Sept. 1995 in Bosnia in which NATO bombed military targets of the VRS (Bosnian-Serb army). So, these bombings were perfectly OK.
On March 24, 1999, NATO commenced airstrikes targeting Serbia, including its capital city, Belgrade. This military intervention played a significant role in bringing an end to the genocide perpetrated against Kosovo Albanians.
Breaking: Albanian 🇦🇱 MPs have approved a resolution that “remembers and honors” the victims of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide. Thank you for your support! 🙌🏻

Our hero and a general of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) has died. We will never forget Jovan Divjak and will always hold him in honor! He is now a part of the eternal army. Neka ti je laka zemlja bosanska!
Today in 1995, the Croatian military operation “Oluja” began. It lead to the liberation of Croatia- it took the Croats barely 85 hours to defeat the forces of the so-called “Republic of Serbian Krajina” & to end the war in Croatia.
Bosnian swimmer of Bosniak ethnicity, Amina Kajtaz, decided to leave the Bosnian-Herzegovinian swimming team, and will now swim for Croatia in Rome. The main reason is lack of financial support by our B&H institutions. I cannot even blame her; Amina, good luck. 🍀
Sretan vam Dan nezavisnosti Bosne i Hercegovine! | Happy Independence Day to Bosnia-Herzegovina!
