Metroid producer Sakamoto's (64) video today reminds me that Switch 2 will likely be the last console gen for the NES-era creators. Miyamoto (71), Tezuka (63), Kondo (62), Aonuma (61), Sugiyama (65) all at/near retirement age, with many others approaching 60. End of an era.

One thing about the PS2 era that I miss is that the "big AAA" games at the time felt like video gamey video games that happened to have good production values. RE4, DMC, Prince of Persia, etc. Now they feel like production value story things that happen to be video games.
