@RexChapman Saw this happen before a Mankato State hockey game back around 1995. Crowd groaned with every barf. Police escorted him out to polite clapping. Cleaning crew received a standing ovation.

My Uncle Duane, an MSU grad from the mid-1980s, died a week ago today from cancer. 59-years-old, great athlete, ran a marathon in every US state. Some even after a cancer diagnosis. Funeral is at the same time as the welcome home Monday. I like to think that was kinda for him.

Who is this man? He's the guy keeping the Mavericks moving forward in their time of need. The Kansas born, Connecticut native, and former Ohio State player last coached at Yale before moving on to MSU. Here's hoping the next head coach gives Paul Kirtland a chance to stay here!

Who is this man? He's the first returning Maverick to say he's staying, hopefully setting a trend for the others. Will Hillman, often a fourth line left wing last session, will be a junior this coming season. So far, in his first two seasons, Hillman has 5 goals & 5 assists.

The Mav Card of the Day is the 1st D1 Mav man from Mankato, Corey Leivermann. @Leiver11 , now a coach for the @MadCapsHockey in the USHL, played 42 games over 2 1/2 seasons at MSU (4-4-8) before transferring to Gustavus for 40 games (20-20-40). Played pro in SPHL for Mississippi.

Today we have Head Coach Luke Strand @strand_luke born in Angeles City, Philippines. Played with North Iowa of the USHL before UWEC in college. Went on to Madison of the UHL for 3 years as a pro. Worked for 3 different USHL teams, 3 NCAA teams, 2 AHL teams, & Calgary of the NHL.

Today's back to school special is the only D1 Maverick men's player to be from Mankato, Corey Leivermann. Had 4 G & 4 A in 42 MSU games. Transferred to D3 Gustavus for last 1 1/2 seasons & was an All-American Sr year at GAC. Current head coach of Janesville Jets of NAHL.

@Super70sSports After the CCHA championship winning goal appeared scored, trophies were given out for the all-tournament team, & the cup presentation was celebrated on the ice, the game restarted an hour later after the winning goal was disallowed. Minnesota State re-won soon after the restart.

@LetsTalk_Twins If the coaching staff believed in letting a starter go 7, 8 innings, I would be a lot more on board. 5 innings every 5 to 6 days instead of a guy who can put the ball in play almost every at bat doesn't do it for me.

Who Is This Man? He's the goalie who says he's coming back next season. Alex Tracy, the former USA Goalie of the Year with Sioux City of the USHL, will return as a sophomore. The Chicago native went 6-3-0 last season with a 2.24 GAA and a .879 save percentage.
