The package contains 24 palettes that are colorblind friendly, and a mix of qualitative, diverging, and sequential palettes.
The package also contains functionality for {ggplot2} to easily incorporate into your data visualizations.
I've been making color palettes from works at the
@metmuseum
for a while, but over break I've had the time to actually put them in R. Stay tuned for a possible palette package down the road 👀

As seen above, 8 new palettes have been added, 6 of which are colorblind-friendly! Here is: Archambault, Benedictus, Demuth, Java, Johnson, Kandinsky, Paquin, and Tam!
One of the main requests was to add {ggplot2} functionality with {MetBrewer}. Functions are now available to set color and fill scale. Options include:
scale_*_met_c: for continuous values
scale_*_met_d: for discrete values.
Stay tuned for binned functionality.

This package is designed as a sister to {MetBrewer} , and the functionality is nearly identical. One exciting change in the creation of the test.plots.moma() function, which displays a set of plots to see how a palette would look in different formats.

Damn, haven’t thought about this map in a while! For all those seeing it now, this is London, Ontario (file upload error) I corrected this a while ago.
I have corrected London on this map. The updated version can be found on my GitHub here: . That all said, if the city of London, Ontario would ever like me to do any work for them, I have experience with their site and would love to collaborate lol

Struggled hard with the colors of this one, but I liked how it came out. I usually take inspiration from classic art. These colors come from Botticelli's "Birth of Venus" (1485–1486)

Thank you so much! Colorblind-friendly is currently in the works! I think having the red-white-blue palette is a great idea! I was originally hoping the Troy palette would cover it, but it looks like I need to specify white as the transition color. Thank you!
@IanSudbery
@metmuseum
Actually no, I am updating a lot of them to be more color blind friendly, as well as writing some code to help distinguish them. Interesting that it's somewhat working though lol. Thank you!
The last thing changed was the removal of two palettes. The Robert and Stevens palettes were removed for similarity to other palettes and to prevent the total choices from being too overwhelming. Sad to see them go, but hopefully the new palettes will bring some joy!
@datenschatz
@InsideAirbnb
Thank you! That is exactly how I did things actually. For simplicity sake, I tessellated the map, found the mean airbnb price of each cell, then used an st_intersection(). I will post code on my github ASAP, the script is a bit messy right now.
