The biggest assholes in chess are rated 2000-2200. They are strong enough to backseat streamers learning, complain about the influx of new players, and gatekeep which content on YouTube is good and bad—all while being resentful a 7 year old can beat them despite decades of work.

There are some good posts on Reddit about typical rating growth curves of prodigies, and Hans' definitely seems merely on the outer edge of "normal for a prodigy" His rise came later than many, but Aronian went from 2600-2750 at age 21 for ex. Shak did it past age 18 too.
