Still seeing a lot of Everton & Newcastle fans bringing Spurs into the debate as one of the "cartel clubs" when talking about FFP - which both shows a complete misunderstanding of how we got to this position and also feels like it actually makes the opposite point to the one -

Never understood this sort of mentality. Spurs could go down to the national league and it wouldn't even cross my mind to walk away. I'm Spurs supporter for life no matter what happens. We all want to see more success and we all get frustrated at times but out of thousands of

Every year I'm slowly drifting apart from Tottenham Hotspur. Fighting for nothing every year. No accountability. Toxic positivity. Lauding players for bare minimum. We just got battered and the manager will pick the same 11 in the next match. It's useless following this club.

I think quite a few are missing the point of Ange's rant. Bringing up our form is irrelevant - he isn't angry we've missed out on top four. He just seems to fundamentally disagree that we should ever want anything other than to win. That's a good thing, surely? Even if it means

@STU1VENBERG Funny thing is, since the WC break they've beaten: - Burnley H (Champ) - Forest H (15th) - Wolves A (19th) - Bournemouth H (16th) - Everton H (18th) OK, you've still got to win the matches...but they might be getting a bit carried away. Seen talk of a title charge.

I don't know why but the amount of moaning about the PEH fee has surprised me. He wants to go. We want him to go. He cost us £15m four years ago. He's nearly 29. His contract is up in 11 months. Did anyone really expect more than £15m absolute tops? £12m is low but needs must.

@CDoggTHFC Has always been a good player - I just think he has been unlucky at Spurs. Arrived as the Poch era fell apart. Started playing well under Mourinho then the corona break hit. Then Conte sent him straight out on loan for 18m. He suits a progressive system and he's finally fit.

The criticism for Vicario is laughable to be honest. A nervy start seems to have been enough to ignore what was a pretty solid performance after the first 15. Couldn't stop either goal, some nice saves, distribution was fine and swept well. But he isn't called Raya so he's shit.

@pjjcasey @jamiecweir Did Everton not do the exact same when they took Richarlison from Watford? Or is that OK and its only offensive when more profitable / financially powerful clubs than Everton are doing the buying?

@LastWordOnSpurs Exactly the attitude you want to see. No player will be happy to not be playing - especially in their prime years and when they've been used to starting every game - and plenty throw their toys out, so fair play to him. Still got an important role to play off the bench I think.

@GerMc31 Well Pickford thought it was - that was very clear from his reaction. So did the officials. So did VAR. So did the pundits. Even Lampard didn't moan about it. Almost like it was a clumsy foul and a nailed on Penalty? Strange, that.

@GovandOkeh @thfclp__ I was going to say the same. Has never relied on pace and he's a model pro. Just turned 29 - barring serious injury he'll be fine for another five years at least.

I'm still only lukewarm on the prospect of Ivan Toney. Don't love his attitude and hasn't had the best of seasons. Plus he's 28. Saying that, I think he'd be better suited to our system than Brentfords and I do think he'd score quite a few goals. I'm on the fence.

@Wazza1882 Selling Skipp would be brainless. He's home grown, club trained, still young, and a good rotation option. If Selling Sessengon and Tanganga as well, we'd be tied into having to buy a minimum of two HG players.

@HotspurRelated Another example of why sensible clubs have their own valuation of a player and - as a general rule - aren't willing to just throw that out of the window and "just pay the money." End up getting fleeced. May still come good, but a €15m punt is a lot better than a €30m one.

@InvertTheWing £50m for Hojbjerg and Gil is very optimistic - can probably halve that. Hojbjerg will have 12 months on his contract at 29 and most Spanish clubs are brassic. I think we probably will raise about £50m through sales but a big chunk will be Rodon to Leeds (if promoted) at £15-20m.

Chelsea really are a basket case of a club aren't they. I didn't like seeing Poch there and I'm glad he isn't anymore, but it felt like he was just starting to settle...and then they get rid! Hard not to assume he disagrees with some of the transfer plans?

@CorneliusW35775 @CarlyOnYouSpurs Too early to tell. Could've said the same about Klopp or Arteta or Poch (at Spurs) after 12-18 months in the job. Many did. But they got time and squad investment and came good. Ange may or he may not - but unless he's given a decent amount of time we'll never know.

@JacoCats We looked so much more solid. Hopefully that's the end of Dier as a starting CB in our defence.

Normal pre season friendly / opposition caveats apply BUT: - Gray looked excellent. Very composed on & off the ball - Bergvall likewise second half. Should've had a 2nd assist - Moore is going to be a superstar - Spence was excellent second half. He's home grown. I'm
