Beaumont staff garden opened last week to provide staff with an outdoor space to relax and take a break from the busy hospital environment. This initiative to improve our grounds will serve to acknowledge and commemorate the tremendous efforts made by staff during the Pandemic.
Congratulations to Dr Sinead Burke, RCSI/Beaumont Intern of the Year - a worthy recipient of this year's prize as judged by her peers. Thanks to the 2021-2022 interns for all of their efforts this year and we wish them the best of luck in their future careers.
Beaumont Hospital student nurses and medical students began administering COVID-19 vaccines at the National Vaccination Centre in Croke Park. Well done to the Centre of Education in Beaumont and thanks to Marie Keane for her role in the training and preparation of students.
A new purpose built Respiratory Assessment Unit (RAU) has opened in our Hospital - another gun in our arsenal to treat COVID-19 patients presenting with acute respiratory failure and provide advanced respiratory supports, such as non-invasive ventilation.
Congratulations to the Stroke Service in Beaumont who have been awarded the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) certification as a stroke centre- the only such service in Ireland to be awarded this prestigious status.
On International Biomedical Scientists Day today we would like to recognise the heroic efforts of our Laboratory Scientists in Beaumont over the past year and celebrate their role in the C-19 Pandemic. The crucial role that this cohort of HCWs is being recognised globally today.
Gastroenterology Dept in Beaumont launches patient information booklet on IBD & Pregnancy. It is a โone stopโ booklet that covers the patient experience from pre-conception up until the point of managing the babyโs vaccinations, and everything in between!

The Major Incident Planning Team (MIP) staged a hospital wide Major Emergency Simulation Exercise on May 3rd, to test our Major Emergency Plan. Learnings from the exercise will be incorporated into the plan as necessary. All areas of the hospital were represented.

Beaumont Hospital has launched the โBeaumont IPโ or Beaumont Infection Prevention app, a new initiative to provide employees information on diseases such as COVID-19, in addition to assist in learning how to put on personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely remove PPE.
