Hey could y’all please send prayers & positive energy to my dad. We’re in the ER waiting to be transferred to Asheville for gallbladder removal. At 90 yrs old, any surgery, even laparoscopic, is scary.
As you’ve probably noticed, Stella has a large cyst that has ballooned to where she can no longer lift her tail. She’s having surgery Tuesday to remove it, so could everyone please send pawsitive energy our way? I’m so nervous about this surgery. 😞
She’s still really woozy & unsteady on her feet, but they said she’s been barking her discontent all day, & I could hear her from outside as I was walking up the steps. 😂
If you could spare some positive energy for Stella I’d sure appreciate it. She is having surgery Friday morning to remove this large fatty tumor. Please keep your fingers crossed for a successful surgery and smooth recovery. ❤️
Hey y’all. So Stella’s tail is infected and I’m taking her back to the vet this morning. With her diabetes it’s so hard for her to fight infection, so please keep your fingers crossed we can get this under control. 😢
This sweet girl is still not feeling great, but she’s getting tons of pampering. Still no beaning (her sign of contentment) since surgery, but I’m hopeful we’ll see it again soon. ❤️ Have a great weekend y’all.
Vet just called and Stella is out of surgery and starting to lift her head and look around! He will keep her until late this afternoon when she can pee and walk on her own. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE WELL WISHES - THEY DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!! I will post pics this afternoon! ❤️❤️❤️
Hey. Can y’all send some pawsitive energy Stella’s way? She’s been sleeping all day and didn’t want to eat dinner. Hopefully she’s just having an off day, but I always worry. ❤️
Stella just got out of surgery and did well. The cyst was filled with fluid & some fatty material. She was under too long to remove the smaller one from her neck, but he said her tail looks good. Should be able to pick her up later this afternoon after recovery.
A note on Stella: see attached photo. I have consulted with specialists & all options have been explored, so please don’t offer armchair medical advice without knowing all of the facts.
We love all of our Twitter pals. Thank you for loving Stella. 💔❤️
Hey y’all. So he says it’s not infected but is just draining & it being her tail, there’s nowhere for it to go. He’s started her on antibiotics just to be safe though. I think I’m just a worry wart.
Thank you! I am 100% certain that the positive energy of dog Twitter has helped Stella more than once. She barked for breakfast this morning and her eyes are open & she’s a little more active. I was seriously scared yesterday, but I think she’s on the mend today. ❤️
The copilot was still a bit drunk coming home - hence her trying to navigate staring out the back window. 🤪🥴Her scar is huge because the cyst had formed lesions to the underlying tissue, but he got it all. 🤕 She just ate dinner and is now napping. 😴
Stella had surgery today to remove the lump from her leg. She also had her teeth cleaned & a tooth pulled. She’s glad to be home, but looks pitiful. 🤕😷🥰
Our walks will soon be measured in negative digits if this trend continues. First flop - mid driveway. 🙄
In all seriousness, I can tell she’s still sore, so I’m not pushing her. 🥰
Stella’s feeling poorly today. A cyst that’s on the bottom of her back foot has gotten infected (probably from constant rubbing) and she had to have it drained & flushed today. Antibiotics & warm compresses until it heals.
Here’s a bean stretch with a bandaged foot. 😢❤️
Stella’s cyst ruptured yesterday & I came home to what looked like a crime scene. Strapped a maxi pad to her neck overnight 😂 & today the vet fashioned her a cyst-sling out of a surgical mask & gave me extras to bring home. I love my vet!!
Stella decided that instead of a walk this morning she’d rather keep an eye on the neighbor mowing & their dog Hezzie. Apparently it looks better upside down. 🥰
Thank you for all the lovely comments and messages. There are too many to respond to, but please know I've read them all and they mean so much. It brings me great comfort to see how much Stella brought joy to so many others. ❤️
Just got back from the vet and Stella's doing well. Her health scare last week ended up being a retrobulbar abscess that was causing fever, pain, lethargy and her eye to bulge. She is responding well to antibiotics and is sassy as ever!
