Dave Cockrum was the best character/costume designer of the Bronze Age! Do you agree?
Who was the best costume designer of the Silver Age? The modern era?
Unlike previous tweets this may be a popular opinion:
The Thing should be a Top 7 character in Marvel Comics. Wolverine usurped his characteristics (gruff, big hearted, cigar chomping). The movies underperformed for Ben. The Thing should be a star like Spidey, Hulk, & Cap again!
As we discuss comic book artists and creators we are sometimes asked, “How do you pronounce their name?” This handy guide from Marvel may help somewhat!
Doctor Doom!
What are your favorite Doctor Doom covers?
I’m sure there are thousands to choose from as Marvel’s premier antagonist has appeared in everything from the FF to Dazzler! Do you have a great Doom cover that just leaps to mind? Who was the best Doom artist?
Did you read Image Comics "1963" series by Alan Moore?
Along with artists Rick Veitch, Steve Bissette, Dave Gibbons, Don Simpson and others, Moore created an early Marvel pastiche.
What did you think about this 6 issue homage to Silver Age comics?
José Luis García-López set the standard for DC Comics’ characters! Raised in the Bronze Age, you almost cannot envision DC heroes without thinking about his work.
If José Luis García-López drew Marvel characters, which four (4) would you most like to see him draw?
The Mutant Massacre!
Did you read this Marvel event back in 1986?
I had forgotten that Thor crossed over into this storyline.
With 11 books across a few months and the main story in Uncanny X-Men and X-Factor, I felt this was manageable to collect and follow.
David Michelinie!
The prolific Bronze Age writer David Michelinie deserves a huge amount of credit for his contribution to significant comic runs. He plotted and scripted many great stories.
Iron Man, Avengers, ASM, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Action Comics and so much more!
Opinion: Monica Rambeau/Captain Marvel was a great character & leader but also a missed opportunity. The 1982 creation by R. Stern & J. Romita Jr. had a unique power set & an interesting civilian life. Strangely she “disappeared” & was never the same as Photon Spectrum or Pulsar.
Do you have a favorite enemy of the Fantastic Four that is NOT Doctor Doom, Annihilus, or Galactus?
Who is in your next tier of FF bad guys that we should see more of?
Which would you buy first?
1) A complete omnibus of the Hostess Comic Book Ads (including all Marvel, DC, Harvey, and Archie ads)?
2) A complete omnibus of ROM’s Marvel appearances?
Kang!
With Marvel featuring Kang in the “Timeless” comic book and in the “Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania” film, what is your all-time favorite Kang story?
Did you read The New Warriors (1990)?
Nova, Namorita, Night Thrasher, Speedball, Firestar, Marvel Boy!
How did this team stack up compared to other Marvel teams of any era? Relationships? Dynamics? Power set? Villains?
What'd you think about The New Warriors?
Perhaps an unpopular opinion

I believe comic readers would appreciate Batman smiling more. Batman can be serious but doesn’t have to be miserable & gloomy. He should grin, smirk, laugh more! A more balanced Batman would grow his audience. The Dark Knight is tiring. Thoughts?
When the Titans met the X-Men! Marvel and DC Present (1982)! Superstar talent: Chris Claremont, Walt Simonson, Terry Austin, Tom Orzechowski, Glynis Wein! Darkseid, Dark Phoenix & Deathstoke! “Apokolips...Now!” I find it fascinating today that Wolverine wasn’t on the front cover!
George Perez.
My first exposure to George Perez was when I started buying comics in 1977. These were some of the first comics I bought and they all had Perez’s covers. These images are still some of my favorites. Amazingly George Perez was only 23 when these were published.
Did you know that the Dazzler was originally conceptualized to resemble Grace Jones? Here is an early art piece by John Romita Jr. of Dazzler with that design. One of her powers was going to be that she could make people tell the truth.
Charlton heroes at DC!
Did you have a favorite series, run, or arc featuring a character that originated at Charlton?
DC Comics showcased Captain Atom, Blue Beetle, The Question, Thunderbolt, The Peacemaker…
Another year almost down and out!
Let’s celebrate by finding covers with knocked-out heroes (down in front)! It is an extremely common cover trope throughout Marvel, DC, and all of comicdom. How many can we find?
Here are some examples of the “down in front” hero theme!
Alpha Flight!
This series had some fantastic eye-catching covers. John Byrne hit some great notes.
What were your favorite Alpha Flight covers? Any era, any artist!
Namor, the Sub-Mariner!
What did you think about John Byrne’s run on Namor (1990)? Twenty-five issues of which he wrote, handled art, and lettered before reducing his role to just writing! How did he do in your eyes?
If you eliminated the Hellfire Club & Dark Phoenix epic and Days of Future Past as options, what was your favorite Uncanny X-Men storyline of all time?
