Think your mixing sounds too sterile? While EQing, Instead of using a low cut, try using low shelves instead! Sounds lose a lot of their footing when their fundamental is completely removed. An added bonus is that shelves affect phase a lot less in non-linear eqs :)

Artist-priority labels like @HalcyonLV need to be appreciated more by both artists and listeners I think. The amount of respect for the artists Halcyon provides is so parallel to more corporate labels, and for that I am very grateful. It's very rare.

I think people often overthink "trying to sound unique" I think there is nothing more unique then being yourself and accepting your own ambitions. I believe that the less you pay attention to whether you stand out or not the more you stand out without it feeling forced.

Finishing/Producing music isn't easy, so don't be discouraged. I've started 4.478 projects in the past 6 years of which prob like 100 to 200 got properly finished. However, you can always scour older projects for certain parts you really liked and refine those :)

Hot take: I feel like calling people's styles "Unique" or not is kind of stupid as being able to call something unique purely stems from the context of your listening history. If I never listened to dubstep, I wouldn't know what the norm is which makes everything sound unique.
