I am building a home with a woman who feels like home. There’s candles, blankets, music, poetry, forehead kisses, and late breakfasts. We keep each other warm.

A love so profound that it transcends distance.
Her existence is merely the personification of my prayers. I’ve finally experienced the physicality of Heaven.
I’m always quiet when people speak on what they would and wouldn’t do for love. I’d book a one-way ticket across the world for the right woman. Who am I to deny myself Heaven?
“Fuck all that pushin P. Let me see you Pusha T. You better off spinning again on him if you thinking bout pushing me.”
THAT’S WTF IM TALKING BOUT KENDRICK!

for addressing the issue of not being able to share your truth with your family without being labeled as disrespectful. Silence isn’t always the best.
I hate being seen as the “strong friend.” or the “therapist friend.”
I rarely get the level of friendship I deserve because I’m held to a standard that I didn’t even place on myself.
It’s always “Oh, I didn’t know.”
How could you? You don’t even see me.
@AugustAlsina
told us about his family in the Florida projects and sleepin in the QuikNEasy back in 2014. Seeing it in 2020 just hits different. He really was “Right There” bruh. 😭

You will adapt.
I can’t tell y’all exactly how much that line has gotten me through.
Everybody a lover girl til it’s time to be in love. Then there’s excuses, trust issues, unresolved trauma, insecurity, “Right person. Wrong time.”, keeping it P, etc.
How you a “lover girl” and you bad at love?
I would like to see more black movies that don’t include the following:
- death
- slavery
- abuse
- neglect
- incarceration
- homelessness
- unemployment
- living in the “hood”
- violence
- unhealthy family relationships
- “ghetto” characters
- any other negative narratives

a few hours ago and when I tell y’all my dumbass was shook. I was like “Hey Tarek!” all normal like he’s my friend or something. I didn’t even realize who he was until after I said hey 😂
