The Killers are a great live band but ยฃ103 for a standing ticket? ๐ณ
Thatโs taking the piss. A couple of hours of live music shouldnโt be anywhere near as expensive as that. Scandalous prices.
Gutted to see
@ianbrown
turn up to his ยฃ40 a ticket, sold out gig at leeds tonight WITH NO BAND. Iโm a life long fan but it was bad.
#ianbrown
does karaoke and butchers his own tunes. Most were too pissed to care but I had to get out after this one. Longsight M13 was a highlight.
How the hell were The Charlatans, The Snuts and Jake Bugg supporting a headline set by Gerry Cinnamon tonight at Hampden? ๐
All three are vastly, vastly superior. He should be supporting them bring their equipment in if anything ๐คฃ
As much as I loved The Verve, Richard Ashcroftโs solo tunes are hardly gonna get the crowd going are theyโฆ
With so much attention on this tour, Oasis could really have made a difference by promoting newer/contemporary bands. But nah. Letโs stick to a lazy, pals act instead.
Unpopular opinion: Nothing against Billie Eilish, but is she really an appropriate Glastonbury headliner? A bit flat her set at points.
Sam Fender & Wolf Alice are two British artists whoโve absolutely smashed it the last 12 months. Either shouldโve been given the opportunity ๐
Happy 20th birthday to Idlewildโs โThe Remote Partโ ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

โResponse to this tour announce has been fucking nuts!โ

Classic album of the week: The Prodigy - The Fat of the Land (1997).
Third studio album from The Prodigy, but whatโs your favourite track?

Happy 20th birthday to Kid A, my favourite Radiohead album. Itโs divisive to many as itโs more experimental, but I was genuinely blown away when I heard it for the first time ๐ฅ
Whatโs your favourite song on it? Iโm going for Idioteque...
What are the best first 3 songs on an album?
Iโm torn between...
Nirvana - Never Mind (1991)
1. Smells Like Teen Spirit
2. In Bloom
3. Come As You Are
The National - Boxer (2007)
1. Fake Empire
2. Mistaken For Strangers
3. Brainy
Classic album of the week is Radioheadโs groundbreaking 1997 record Ok Computer.
Itโs seen as one of greatest ever albums, a departure from their previous in its experimentation & comment on alienation & society at the time.
Whatโs your favourite track?
My top 10 fave 90s albums:
Nirvana - Nevermind
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
The Verve - Urban Hymns
Radiohead - The Bends
Blur - 13
Pearl Jam - Vs.
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Elastica - Elastica
Pulp - Different Class
Primal Scream - Screamadelica
Whatโs yours?
Highlights of Arctic Monkeysโ 2013 headline set at Glastonbury on at 11.20pm on BBC2.
One of my favourite sets ever. Watched it live at the time and then for a second time the next day ๐ฅ
Happy 17th birthday to Arctic Monkeys debut!
Feel likes only yesterday I went into Fopp on Byres Rd in Glasgow to buy it. The soundtrack to my freshers year as an 18 year old ๐ฅ
Whatโs your favourite track?
Dancing Shoes or You Probably Couldnโt See For The Lightsโฆ for me
Just over 19 years since The Strokes releases โIs This Itโ. One of the most stylish and influential Indie Rock albums of all time.
Whatโs your favourite track?
Todayโs listening: Grian Chattenโs debut album โChaos For The Flyโ.
Revising this after a few months, and this is even better than I remembered! More subdued than his work with with Fontaines D.C., but so many beautiful moments.
Whatโs everyoneโs thoughts on it?
I love Sam Fender and he started brilliantly then it all kinda fell flat. So went to see LF System and the energy levels were a million times better ๐
Rain didnโt help Sam in fairness. But just wasnโt there tonight unlike last March when I saw him at the Hydro.

RIP Shane MacGowan. The Pogues singer died today aged 65 after being diagnosed with encephalitis.
What was your favourite song by The Pogues featuring Shane MacGowan?
The debut album from the East Lothian band The Rahโs (
@therahsmusic
) is full of rock 'n' roll swagger and indie bangers.
Hereโs an intro to the band & why the hype is justified ๐ฅ
Grian Chattenโs debut solo album โChaos For The Flyโ is rather excellent, isnโt it?
A lot more subdued and diverse than his work with Fontaines D.C., itโs grown on me a lot over last couple of weeks.
Whatโs everyoneโs favourite track?
Catfish are so mid, how are they headlining festivals in 2024 ๐
A couple of not bad early songs (Cocoon/Kathleen), but saw them headline TRNSMT in 2019 and their set had far too much bland filler ๐ซ
All in my opinion, of course ๐

Couldโve been a great opportunity to showcase current and upcoming UK/Irish bands and help push guitar music back into the mainstream.
Having Richard Ashcroft and Cast seems like a wasted opportunity to me.
๐จ Oasis will be supported for their UK and Ireland shows next year by former The Verve frontman and solo artist Richard Ashcroft, and indie rock band Cast, The Independent can confirm.
Sources close to the Manchester-formed rock band said the two acts have been booked to open
Nothing against the guy personally, but it seems like every second song on the radio features Ed Sheeran these days.
How did someone with such a bland singing style/producer of mediocre pop tunes get so big?
Honestly donโt get it ๐
Itโs Hump Day after Blue Monday and Iโm feeling it ๐ฅ
Good excuse to give Radioheadโs Ok Computer a listen.

The album won me over, but canโt deny the posh art school nature of the whole thing is off putting ๐

Some really beautiful tracks on this one. Who else is a fan?

Richardโs got more talent in his left nostril than all your so called new bands put together now stop being an entitled little bumbaseed and show some fucking respect
Thoughts on the TRNSMT line up?
Early thoughts are: predictable & poor so far.
Liam is there every year ๐ด, Gerry Cinnamon doesnโt have the tunes to headline & Calvin will just attract the neds (though, in fairness, he has plenty of bangersโฆ). Fairly bland underneath that ๐
