I have eaten #rice 🌾 all my life but never experienced growing or harvesting it. My recent visit to Trongsa gave me the hands-on experience. It’s hard work, but beautiful as it brings communities together, accompanied by songs. Lots of opportunities for mechanization.

The first stop of my first visit to Pema Gatshel is Labar village. Thru @GEF_SGP , we r starting a project on soil & land management to enhance farmland and to replace slash & burn practices. Steep terrain makes it difficult to retain top soil. 4️⃣8️⃣ households r in the community.
