Entangling a photonic qubit with a spin qubit part 2: measuring in X basis. How does one measure photonic time-bin qubits in X basis: |+> = early + late and |-> = early - late? You delay the early time-bin to match the late one and interfere them on a beam splitter 🤩🤩

Entangling a photonic qubit with a spin qubit in a cavity. 😁 (and measuring the resulting entangled state in the z basis) You start with separate superposition states "+" of the photonic qubit and a "+" of the spin qubit.. couple of bounces - and the result is a bell pair!🤩🤩

Measurement-based quantum computing is a cool idea! Even though quantum mechanics is unitary, it turns out that the universal quantum computation doesn't have to be. Aka, you can do arbitrary QC using measurements and local unitary gates. Step 1: Create a 2D cluster state.. 😎

Self-Heterodyne measurement of laser linewidth: quantifying the "quality" of the laser is surprisingly hard. The higher quality it is, the harder it is to quantify. One way is to split the laser beam, offset one path in frequency and interfere it with itself after a long delay.

Some fun with Red Pitaya. This guy is a great start for small trial projects for home and lab. Could be used as an oscilloscope, VNA (vector network analyzer), function generator, and ... a way to start/stop and monitor your hacked tea kettle. 😜😜😜

My favorite quantum emitter - Rydberg atom. Or as I like to refer to ours - fluffy atoms.🥰The ratio of sizes between Rydberg and ground-state atom could be 1000x higher - I just didn't want to lose the ground state atom from the doodle😅 #ScienceTwitter @PhDVoice @BlenderArtists

Doppler broadening of the Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) as a function of temperature. 🤩 Better make sure that the atomic cloud is cold 😆😆❄️ #ScienceTwitter @PhDVoice #phdthesis @WolframResearch T-6 days
